I'm gonna defend Sebo here. If you want to question his decision to buy the extra equipment instead of 3rd party stuff that's fine, but for getting OEM options that's a pretty good price.

I bought an '04 6MT/Navi.

Add OEM body kit - installed
Add TL A-Spec wheels and tires
Add 7yr warranty
Add Tax/Tag/Title

That's like 7k in options.

My out the door was 35.5k.

I did not let the dealer keep the OEM wheels - I had to fight for that in a big way. They are in my garage, and I've used them for a couple long distance trips. I was originally going to sell them but they've come in handy.

yup, which kinda defeats what the TSX is known for... being the most affordable entry level luxury sports sedan with the most standard features

As much as I love the TSX, if I am going to blow 40k on a car, it will not be a TSX...

imagine you have 100k to to spend on a car (and please be rational guys) would you want to buy a 50K M3 and pay Hamann another 50K to soup it up?

Or just spend the 100k on a a stock porsche 996 carrera, which is clearly in a different league?

Then again, its your money... have fun driving 1 of the most expensive TSX's with OEM equipments =)

wow

38k is a horrible price for a TSX.
I would have taken a the stock TSX for 30k and use the 8k toward better mods then what you got or a nicely equipped 3 series.

hey lito , is your body kit like a slightly different color or is it paint fading?

i had this happen on my last car where the bumpers all got less "bright" than the rest of the car ..

You're right it certainly looks like it's fading from the night pics, but on day pics it's a perfect match

no i doubt it.

exterior:

things like acid rain stains, bird shit stains, minor surface scratches (ie from finger nails), paint cracking/pealing, body rust, etc..

interior:

tiny holes in seats caused by say a sitting on a pen, ink stains, or stains from beverages.

that sort of stuff.
if they can't remove/repair the stains or whatever it is, they replace, and even paint the area if needed for 5 years.

Why would you pay all of that money for the paint protection , not knowing if the actually are doing this stuff, Were you standing there watching while they were....whenever i buy a new car, i never get that extra stuff they offer, paint protection, interior protection because once you drop the car off, you never know what they do , they may take your car in and take a lunch and tell you to come back tommorow, no work done in the mean time except a wash maybe.

$395 isn't all that much considering what they offer with the protection plan.. with your theory, the same can apply if your bring in your car for warranty repairs, huh?

it's a hot color.. way better looking than the silver imo. it is the same dark-ness as the silver but with a tint of blue so it really does look nice.

well i didn't spend 38k for the car, the car was $29,800 w/nav + $2,200 tax... the rest of the accessories brought it up to that price.

sure it seems like a lot of money for the TSX, but either way, if i added an aftermarket bodykit, wheels/tires, etc.. it would cost $$.

yes i could of bought a BMW, but i'd still get shafted with all the accessories, would i be able to get Navi on the BMW for that price? it all adds up, really.

Just curious
Did you al least try to negotiate a lower base car price by leveraging the fact that you're going to add all those extra ?
Just doesn't appear you did any negotiation at all.
But then you may be the type that HATES haggling.

oh, btw, please tell us you got the iPod integration kit "thrown in"

Acura by Executive in north haven.
dude, i tried a few dealers in CT, acura of milford wanted 30,505.

executive didn't charge me the destination price ($600) so i got it for 29,800~

when i called acura of milford i asked if they will negotiate the price and they said the car is hard to get, rare and they are only producing a certain amount of them... so they wouldn't budge on the price..

Black/Black Navi. 6-speed Manual.

Invoice $27,257 + $700 dealer fees = $27,957

+$615 destination = $28,572

2006 Navi. I saw it today and take it home tomorrow, not december and not $29k

Dude, I've been sharing my deal on this board for weeks and mine isn't the best. All those options are negotiable too. My dealer matched the price of the eBay parts for the few options I wanted. I mean $100+ for a $25 trunk net.

I'm glad someone is paying Acura's bills so that they can afford to make reasionable deals to those of us who cant afford $38k for a TSX.

For that price, I would have just said no. That's what I said when they told me the silly spoiler was $900+.

My advice is to renegotiate. The first time I talked to them it was MSRP - firm. Then I made a deal tenitive deal for $500 under invoice. A second local dealer offored $750 to get my buisness. Then I emailed dealers several farther away. My best offer was Invoice + $700. I forwarded that email to my local dealer and they matched it, no questions asked, wanted to keep my buisness.

As with i-VES, I'd rather do the mod that putis the video on the Navi screen. Much cleaner and not in the way of the rear-view. For that price, you could get 2 of those over the headrest jobs and both real passengers can have there own screen and even different shows if they wish.

Why is everyone so appalled by the price he paid? Who cares. He got exactly what he wanted at a price he can pay and had a completely stress-free purchasing experience (I hope). Congrats on a tits TSX.

Not to knock down the TSX but for $38K you could have gotten a G35 Coupe with Navi or if you're into pure performance, an Evo 8 or an STi. Just my two cents on spending excessive amounts of money on stock midrange sport/luxuries. But I hope you're happy with where your money went!
