Is It Just My Car Or.....

all tsx headlights are really bright to the point where people high beam me ALL THE FREAKEN TIME thinking I have MY high beams on. I really love my bright lights and really couldn't care less what other people think but I just don't want anyone driving in my opposite direction to be blinded and to cause an accident. Any other tsxer's have this problem?
peace.

Don't have this problem. Your lights are probably aimed too high.

Happens to me once in a while. I think some people can't tell the difference between actual high beams and headlights that are just brighter than normal. The TSX does have very bright lights.

I find that some Audi headlights are more annoying because of the way they change color from white to blue so quickly. Sometimes they seem to almost be blinking blue/white as the car goes down the road. Anyone else notice this?

I've owned my TSX for 7 months now and only got flashed once. I guess people are used to hids around here.

You said it. They are too busy protesting to keep up on the innovations with headlights.

Actually just tonight; I was exiting the parkway and passed around this old school Mercury and stopped at the light. So the Mercury pulls up aside and it's this 80 year old gramps. He shouts out "You can stick those lights up your ass." Idiot.

What's funny is that right after he sped away, he was tailgaited by a Acura TL and then a 350Z.....haha he must'v been really pissed.

Yup. I got hi-beamed on the hilly roads here, but never on the flat side streets.

And yes..slow, left lane driving, RV hauling, morons do inhabit Oregon.

see the problem is that if dumb asses actually tried looking at the road rather than at your headlights they would not have that problem.
i have the specs for the TSX headlights right from the service manuel...
you park the car exactly 25 feet from a wall.
measure the height of the centerline of the light from the ground (there is a small round bullseye on the lense)
then at the wall measure exactly 1 inch lower than the measurement from the gound to headlight centerline. make a mark with a peice of tape.
the upper most portion of the beam (passenger side) should be at that mark on the wall.

mine are adjusted perfect. yes i am sure over hills and bumps they will blind people. and for some reason people have a tendancy to look directly at your lights as you pass. i guess they are a little like Moths?
the reality is that if you look at the beam pattern you can clearly see that the light is not at the level of the drivers eyes. in fact in order for that to happen on level ground the person would have to be dragging their head on the pavement to get the lights directly in their eyes.
in colorado on I-25 which is mostly separated highway with at least a football fields length between north and south lanes people still flash me.
i usually return the favor, but what i dont get is why people insist on looking at my lights? if you look at the road in front of you as your supposed to it wont bother you.

i have actually had on a couple of occasions had someone flash me with near my neighborhood. and on 2 occasions i have made a u turn and followed with my highs on just to point out that they were incorrect to assume i had mine on. sometimes you dont expect to be flashed and you dont get a chance to return the gesture. i know this is not very adult like and its not very nice but as i see it i didnt ask to be flashed. and i figure perhaps a good wakeup call for the other drivers that do it will realise it pisses people off and next time they see a blue light they will realise they are only low beams of a different color.

what pisses me off more is when people don't turn their lights on at all when it's dark... you begin to wonder why there are so many accidents.

i see at least 3 cars like this every week... stupid oregonians.

the WORST is when people see you coming down pretty fast, and they decide to turn in from an intersection and cut you off, then proceed to drive 5mph under the limit... URGGGGHHH!!!

anyway, back to the point - yeah people do high beam me all the time.

I think people are just attracted to shiny objects so they're staring at your lights. If they would learn to drive and not look directly at the headlights of oncoming traffic, this wouldn't be a problem.

I got flashed for the first time last night. I have had the car for 6 weeks now. The guy flashed me, so I flashed him back to say "these are not my brights". People make mistakes, that's fine. Then the bastard turned his brights on like he was mad at me. Damn girly men in VW bugs.

Yeah, but some people have Deer genes, so light causes them to be paralyzed.

Does anyone think that the regular driving headlights look white/brighter than the high beams?
