If you are looking to use your navi touch screen to control your iPod; I've haven't heard of any device that can do that. The three iPod options I know of are:
- AUX connector in the center console. Works pretty good in a pinch, doesn't charge iPod.
- iPod adaptor that connects to the back of your navi. You will have some steering wheel control, charges the device, and you see song info on navi screen. You still will need to touch the iPod for some of the functions (depending on what mode your adaptor set for).

- Bluetooth wireless iPod adaptors. I haven't read about the pros/cons about using this for Acura cars. It could work great OR not work at all (might interfere with the car's Bluetooth signal).

I installed the USASpec ipod adaptor about 3 years ago and it work very well with my 1st gen iPod touch and iPhone 3GS. It has better sound quality compared to the AUX connector. I ran the connector into the open bin below the radio so I can plug in my iPod and close the cover (out of sight, out of mind). Even with the +7 days of continuous music on the iPod/iPhone, I listen more to XM radio 90% of the time.

I bought the iSimple kit for my 2005. Installation is easy. I think the sound quality is decent, but the control function through the factory head unit is a bit confusing. I think the major limiting factor is the TSX amplifier/speakers.
From what I read when making my decision, I believe that the iSimple kit is generally regarded to be the best available option.

I am about to buy an ipod adopter and looking for something with good price. I saw the iSimple kit for around $90 on ebay. Should I buy that or or the USA Spec.....any recommendations?
Also it seems really easy to install but my one question was where do you put the big converting box, do you hide it behind the storage bin that comes out?
thanks

I installed the Isimple box (media adapter) right behind the storage bin. Vertical orientation - there is just enough clearance to place the box there - I hot melt glued the box to the ducting back there. There are some empty areas to the right and left down near the floor inside the console area but it's somewhat tight. You have to remove the storage bin to plug the box into the audio bus anyway. I drilled a hole in the rear of the storage bin and routed the cables into the bin. Some folks route the cable to the armrest storage area. (2005 TSX without navi).
I have been very happy with the performance of the adapter for the past couple of years.

You can't go wrong with USA spec imo its the best option because i was designed to work with the TL navigation in mind so I'm sure theres a TSX model available as well. From what I've read with USA spec you can only get text and song info on the navi if you have XM radio registered but as Myname367 said the 07 model probably has AUX and any one of these addons will cost $100+ so I personally think it isn't worth it. I think iSimple is easier to install but I'd recommend having a place like bestbuy install it because if anything goes wrong you'll have a warranty.
Yes, the CH+ and CH- buttons on the steering wheel move to the next/previous track. Of course the volume controls work. There are various buttons you can push on the radio that will do certain functions. Various track and artist information will be displayed in the radio display - one limitation, the radio display is frequently too short to show the entire title.
The Isimple also has a mode (AUX1 input) where the Ipod audio is played in the audio system but all control is at the Ipod - all the usual Ipod controls are available.
And then there is AUX2 which accepts audio input from any device via a 3.5mm (1/8 inch phone jack).

Whats the model of the iSimple that you got since I have the exact same car....2005 TSX without navigation.
thanks
Isimple media gateway PXAMG. Box is marked "compatible with Iphone 4". You will also need to get a wiring harness for Acura TSX - I don't have a model for the cable.
I have used the adapter with a two or three year-old Ipod Nano and a recent Ipod Touch. There was an issue with older media gateway units that didn't work properly with the Ipod Touch. There was also an issue of charging (Ipods switched from Firewire to USB charging a few years ago). Any current version of the media gateway and associated cables solved all of these issues.
One further note about charging, the Ipod will remain On (music play is paused) even after the ignition key is turned off. This is apparently normal according to Isimple technical support. I have had no issues with the Ipod remaining on since the current drain is pretty low - and drops to nearly nothing after the Ipod is completely charged.
I believe the audio quality is limited by the TSX audio system and the quality of the compressed files on your Ipod. The decoding of the digital files is done in the Ipod and passed into the TSX (analog) audio bus.

Would you recommend USA Spec or iSimple. I read somewhere that there was trouble with iSimple when the new iPhones came out and I am looking to get the new iphone when it comes out so I dont want it to stop working in 2 months or so.
Does USA spec have the same problem?

So on an 05
On a non-navi the AUX button is just a tease. That explains why I've not been able to find the port anywhere. So, what kind of connections are left on the back end of the head unit? I'd like to hook my Ipod if there is at least component jacks back there. I feel like I've been teased with the AUX button, it laughs at me from the dash.
Sad is that I went to Crutchfield and there are no "compatible" head units. Given the angle of the unit I'm not too surprised.
