yes they still do dim.

No I don't drive with them on. I use them just like normal map lights. If I find they are not bright enough to read, I use the vanity lights. They are plenty bright.

Both Map Lights with 9 led bulbs

Left map light 9 led bulb, right map light 4 led bulb

Side view: left map light 9 led bulb, right map light 4 led bulb

I don't think these pictures are the greatest. You need to actually see what a big diffirence it makes to have the 9 led bulbs in stead of the 4 led bulbs.

Whoa whoa whoa...okay. why are most people using 4LEDs for the rear dome light and 9 LEDs for the map lights? Why not just use 9 LEDs for everything? or will that just be like a huge explosion of light

Maybe I am retard but are these the right bulbs?

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b....30183&next=50
Search for : "3022-x9 LED Festoon bulb " on that page

If so, when I take out the existing bulb in the door side, why won't this bulb fit? I am guessing it is the wrong one right?

Hey Broodster, I think they can only be used in the dome lights not the doors. you have to get wedge bulbs for the doors.

Got the 9-LEDs for the doors from eBay seller tec_toyz. (He has some auctions with 9-LED bulbs, and some with 6-LEDs). I know a lot of people on this forum have the 6-LEDs either from tec_toyz or from Autolumination, but I saw the 9-LEDs from tec_toyz and decided to give 'em a try. I really like them -- they're bright enough to see and notice during the day, and they're super great at night. See two pics I took below when I installed them...one in pitch dark, and the other with moderate lighting.

***pictures***

I put a blue 4-LED bulb (purchased from superlumination.com -- the "LED Festoon Bulb" in Blue, 31mm) into the rear dome light. Also got two "Xenon Super White Festoon Dome Light Bulbs", 31mm, on the same page for the map lights. I decided to go this route -- with the blue in back but the bright white in front -- because I liked the idea of having the blue overhead, but still wanted to be able to use the map lights. Plus the factory map light bulbs are too bright IMHO, and they don't look as good as the pure light of the Xenon bulbs.

Here's a pic I took while installing, to show the difference between the Xenon and the factory bulb. The bulb on the left is the Xenon -- considerably dimmer than the factory (although still adequate for reading). It's a lot less "in your face" when you get into the car in very dark surroundings. Plus the color is a lot more crystal clear, and as someone noted in one of the older discussions about these bulbs, it matches the dash lighting better.

***pictures****
I ended up doing the exact same thing. Blue 6LED's from techtoyz for the doors, 4LED in the rear dome, and two xeon's in the front map lights from that other website. I didn't want the 9LED's everywhere because I was worried about it being TOO bright; I wanted some nice ambiant lighting, not blinding blueness. I was worried about it being too 'ricer' so I tried to match the normal light blue of the factory lighting. I'm quite happy with the results, and got some good responses from it. Still debating on whether to keep the rear dome light, but I probably will. I love the blue door lights though.

i personally have gotten over 20+ led bulbs for the 1 interior set for my 06 tsx and 2 sets for my friends who have '03 accords. he has every color and they are amazing....the whites give a nice luxury feel to them. if you want to buy bulk (buy some for more than 1 car) he gives u a better discount going straight through him and paypal than through ebay. great guy.

also has white led's for the license plate in the back like the new lexus is250/350s have. makes the lights match with the front HID's. looks amazing at night...especially with a dark color car. i bought some for mine and for my friends cars too.

i have blue inside my car....they are bright when all are turned on...i don't drive with them on....too bright. don't feel ricey with them....girls do love it. (i have the light silver)

there is a little hollow on the end/side - just put your flathead in there btw, just pull out the bulb and put in the new one - no screwing required.

For sizes, you can check out: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm

Additional resources:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...74&postcount=4

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...nterior+lights

You can also contact Brian at Tectoyz.com and he will let you know exactly what you need.

From his site (http://www.tec-toyz.com/products.html), I got the 921 bulbs for the doors (which accepts 168/194) and I believe the map lights and dome light accepts the 4LED 3022 Festoon Bulb 30mm.

I agree, I decided to put together a quick guide on how to access the oem bulbs for replacement. I understand that many people will think that such process is so simple that a guide is unnecessary, but I hope that others can benefit from this.

For those who are reluctant about breaking their lenses or scratching up their interior, make sure you wrap your flat head screwdriver with a piece of paper towel. One layer should be sufficient, otherwise, you won't be able to insert the screwdriver into the hollow ends of the lenses.

According to the map light diagram, I stated that 4 access points are needed, but some people might be able to open their lenses through 2 access points instead (one from each opposing side). I hope that wasn't too confusing.

Are you refering to the 9 led bulbs that come with the 5 bulb package? Those 9 led bulbs are "wedge" type, not the "festoon" type that you need for the dome lights.

The best way to do the dome light is by using two flat head screw driver (long one and a short one). Use the short to pop it open it just enough to fit the long one throgh all the way to the end. Once, you got your long one in turn the screw clock wise or counter so that it can pop it out.

Tec Toyz now have 9LED feston bulbs. I am about to order full 9LEDs for my interior and license plate but after hearing so many people complain about fitment issues....I am undecided now. I asked Brian and he said they fit fine. Maybe he just wants to make the sale?

Thanks! I am placing my order tonight. I talked to Brian again and he said he has NEW 9LED bulbs that will fit the TSX's dome and map lights. At first, he thought I was asking about a TL.

I actually bought the 9LED White lights last week from Tec_toys and installed them today.

I installed the dome and map lights, they fit fine.

The only issues I see is with the door lights. They seem to be a longer than stock and I think they press up against the plastic guard. I may try to buy 6-LED bulbs if they are a little shorter.

Can somebody measure the length of the 6-LED bulbs for the doors?

No, I dont have pics...if you look on page 2 you can see someone posted some pics. They do have this purplish sort of tint like the pics, but they are plenty bright. They also stay dimly lit when you have the switch on OFF, but I keep mines on DOOR anyways so I have no problem with that.

Finally today the rain stopped, now I can go out today and install the 9LED license bulbs. I will try to take some pics later today with my camera phone.

Rubber screw???

You take three plastic screws off and pull the carpet over the handle and 2 rubber pieces at the bottom edge of the trunk lid, then fold back.

You reach up into the hole where the license plate light terminals are and pop the connectors out.

AIM or MSN Messenger me; check my profile.

I noticed that the lights heat up real fast

I got the blue 9 bulbs from Tech Toys for my door lights.

Yesterday I had the door open for only about 30 sec or so,
and I noticed that alot of heat was being generated..

I'm afraid to keep my door open now.. anybody else feel the heat
coming from the lights??

Installed my 9LEDs interior package today. The bulbs fit PERFECTLY and looks great at night. It is not that dim at all and I can see fine with the map/dome lights on. Very cool indeed. These are from Tec-Toyz. Going to install my license plate lights tomorrow. But again, the bulbs fit perfectly for the interior. Thanks everyone! I will try to get some pictures out soon.

the 9LEDs fit fine for the 2 map lights and rear dome light. The door lights has the same situation as the plate lights where the bulb is pushing right against the plastic cover, but not by a lot so the cover went on fine!
