Interior Dome LEDs
I need some details
Hi, My TSX is a 2006 model. I want to replace my dome lights with blue 9LEDs, my rear dome with blue 6LEDs, and my door lights with UV/purple 6LED bulbs. I need to know exactly what to order. So far I know:
For dome lights:
9LED Festoon 30mm x 10mm
For the doors:
6LED Wedge 168/194
For the rear dome:
6LED 30mm x 10mm
Is this all I need to know to order? Is there any other technical information I need to know such as, lets say, wattage or voltage?
Another thing: do they even make 9LEDs in 30mm x 10mm size? Every site I checked had 9LEDs in larger sizes than 30mm x 10mm.
Can someone help me out?

What does 3022 mean, and what does Festoon and Wedge mean? Do I need to get Festoons for the domes/rear and Wedge for the doors? Do I need the square looking ones for the doors too or just for the domes? Thanks for your help...

the domes are 3 of them use the 9 one that looks like a square.
I'm actually trying the high power leds that have 6 of them and its cool white.

Yes. Almost everyone on here has used them for led replacements. Do a search and you'll see many positive reviews.
Okay, the OEM door bulbs that come with the 2006 TSX are called 194/168, right? So I need LED bulbs that replace 194/168. I'm going to order the 921-x9 Wedge bulbs from superbrightleds.com. Can someone let me know if I'm correct.
Secondly, for the map/dome lights, I can order 3022-x9 festoon style from superbrightleds.com (square shape). They replace DE3175 which are the OEM map/dome bulbs that come with the TSX. Correct?
I'm Just making double sure I know what I'm doing before I place an order. I appreciate you peoples' input. Thanks...

Has anyone tried this? http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm it's the 6th item from the top. The new 1-led bulb.
I'm looking for new interior bulbs because one of my bulb is out. So I'm thinking of just getting three new ones. I used to have the 9-LED. Any suggestions?

Yea, I don't mean to post a bunch of questions about this, but I just ordered my LEDs and am wondering one thing: How to SAFELY swap the bulbs. Do I need to consider the risk of electrocution? Are there any safety precautions or procedures associated with the bulb swap? Thanx...
Your not going to get electrocuted, just pop off the light covers, pull the old bulbs out and put the new ones in. Its extremely easy. and just a note: from my experience with superbright LED's you might notice that some of bulbs will go out on you in a day or two or over time. But what i have found out through other message boards is that superbright uses a TON of glue when placing the metal connectors on the plastic bulb housing. To correct that just get a lighter and heat the metal contact VERY briefly. Pull the contact off and use a small flat head screw driver and scrape some of the glue off the contact wire. Push the contact back on, and your good to go. Worked great for me.

1) 9LED Festoon
2) 9LED Wedge
3) 6LED Wedge
Is there anyway you can post some kind of illustration or picture or something demonstrating how to get the excess glue off? I know it sounds crazy, but if there is any way you can, it would help. I don't want to mess with the bulbs like that unless I'm sure I know what I'm doing.

You can find them cheaper on ebay.
Great! now they come out with a 8 Led on autolum. I don't know what to do!
Just got my LEDs yesterday
My LEDs came yesterday, and I thought I should let you guys know how they are. The 9LED Festoon blues are great, as you already know. But if you were thinking about getting purple (ultraviolet), they're nowhere near as bright as the blues. The purple are actually black-lights... the kind that make the white in your shirt glow. That's not purple. Anyway, they're not bright enough even with 9 LEDs... I guestimate they're equivalent to 4LED blues in brightness. So consider this before ordering purple.
See I like the blue because its my color, and it also matches the lights inside the TSX (ignition and spotlight that shines on the gearshifter, etc), but I thought that since my car is red, purple would go better with it. Blue and red make me feel like uncle Sam driving around, especially with the ugly red-white-blue license plates we have to have in this country... and that SUCKS! Its kind of one step away from putting the little flag on my antennea. But, regardless of that, I'm still happy with my blue LEDs.

I'm about to order some cool-white LEDs to see if I like them better than blue. I'm pretty sure these will work/fit, but I just want to double check. Also, if anybody has any feedback on these, it would be valuable:

Rear and fronts are the same.
On the below link, these have lasted me well longer than all the other usual ones people use from like SBL and autolum etc...

^ where'd you buy door led lights? i was looking at that site for the map/dome lights but i couldnt find the lights for the doors.
i'm trying to avoid sbl and as far as autolum goes, its way too unorganized for me to even find anything there as well.

superbrightleds have been on my car for over a year and have not burned out and look awesome..i used to have lights from autolumination which were wayyyy too expensive plus they were pieces of shit and had 4 lights burn out on me for $9 a pop..never again..plus youre right their website is so disorganized i thought i was on crack the first time i saw it
i've been looking through all the old threads and everything regarding these interior LED lights and how SBL lights--especially the map/dome lights burn out so quickly. but i guess there's that chance wherever i get the lights. SBLs are the cheapest out there for sure, so maybe i'll go that route.
The door lights are 194/168 wedge. Any bulb with this number will have a plug-in base that properly fits the door sockets, but the body of the bulb could be too long for the cavity (as with the towers), so you have to also check their lengths. I use the ones from SBL with no problems... 921-x12 (cool white: 921-CW12). These ones haven't burned out at all for a while.
Its the festoon (dome/map) ones from SBL that have burned out for me... the ones that resemble dice. This is why I use the oracle ones now.
You have to know what bulb type/code you're looking for in order for autolum's page to make sense. Just click on the sub-page link. They don't do a good job at all of making it sensible to people who aren't really familiar with the bulbs/codes.
Dome and Door lights:

^^but they're way too expensive- as was already stated.
Oracle has the 194/168 bulbs too (they also call them T10):

^^I wouldn't. Its wise to leave the bulbs involved with safety the way they are stock (especially the brake/tail).

Also, the brake/tail are wedge base as well, so that bayonet you posted still won't plug-in
By the way, what is the reason you want to do this?

The ones on the link to Oracle I posted are cool white. There really isn't a definition of 'cool white' except that its relative to the warm white bulbs by being white instead of yellow. The continuoum is the Kelvin scale.
so i got the led instaled my plate light ok. however map light was not a sucess.
did the driver side it went in ok turned on, and when i turned it off it stayed off.
moving to the passenger side turned on ok, however now the maplight led both stay on. an when i plug one of the oem bulbs in it doesnt stay on when its off.
its not completly on but there is 5.12V going through when both led are in, and 0V when has one oem in , or two oem in. do i need a resistor?
i ordered the
3022-x4 LED Festoon bulb

The stockers were insanely bright. You turn them on at night and it's like walking out of a matinee in the summer. I like the softer glow.
