how long does the warranty cover alignment issues?

i've just been notified by my dealer that alignment issues can only be repairs at no charge under warranty if the car is within 12,000 miles. is that true?

That's what I was told too. Im sure they can deny this if you have modified your suspension though.

Is alignment covered even if I got winter tires placed at a garage?

Check the manual. It sounds like B.S. to me.

Why would it be BS if the dealer says no to free alignments? I think a year or 12k miles is acceptable.

Is that 12k miles from the last alignment or just 12k miles? I ask only because what if you run into a situation where your alignment is off for the first few thousand miles and then they finally fix it, but something starts to go wrong after you reach like 13k miles?

I had the steering wheel off to the left problem. At first they did a quick alignment check and gave me back the car. I brought it back and told them it wasn't fixed. They gave me a loaner for a week and did a complete four wheel alingment and it's perfect now. This was all before I had 1k miles on my car.

Pohanka in Chantilly, VA said that it is a 12k mile warranty from the day I bought the car; they told me this after the alignment was fixed. I guess it's up to the dealer as to how many miles passed the warranty they will allow.

I think the steering wheel to the left problem became a TSB, I'm not positive on it though.

I'm taking my car in on Tuesday for alignment issues, as well as other stuff... I'll see what the local dealer has to say.

What do they charge for "alignment issues". Pet peve also: my wheel pulls to the left and wheel shakes at 65 miles/h

after complaining and some talk with both the sales manager and service manager, my dealer decided to do the alignment for me at no charge. dealers charge about 80-100 dollars for alignment, you might as well try the Firestone lifetime alignment promotion going on for around $150. also, make sure you guys keep all your work orders from dealers, those are very important.

Make sure you get a print out of before and after the 4 wheel alignment to make sure they actually did the complete alignment.

- 25k oil change

- driver's seat moves on left turns (and makes noise)

- transparent plastic in front of clock cracked with heat (I want it replaced)

- vibrating steering wheel when braking (bad rotors?)

- rust on right door

- car pulls to left (present since day 1, never had it addressed before)

I hope I only have to pay for the oil...

I'm concerned the rust on the right door might be coming from the hole cut for the larger speaker (Alpine type R). I can already hear the advisor saying, "Aftermaket add-ons installed poorly, blah blah blah, $1000 to fix, blah blah blah". I might open the door this weekend and take a look.

the vibrating steering wheel might be bad rotors, i have the same problem but it's not that severe. dealer resurfaced my rotors, was hoping they'd replace it instead cuz resurfacing isnt always good in the long run. your dealer will more likely deny to have the alignment done for you under warranty, but keep complaining to both the sales manager and the service manager and they might do it for ya, at least that's what i did :P

They refuse to reserve a loan car this time, so I'll definitely bug them a bit.

I also need to get the recall trunk wire harness looked at; though I think either the stereo shop moved it, or I did when I installed the fluorescent light in the trunk.
