Is there a way to keep the horn from "chirping" when pressing the lock button twice on the key fob? Thanks for any help.

 

Why not just press it once?

 

Yeah...Just press it once.

You only have to press it once to lock all the doors & the trunk.

To UNLOCK however, you have to press it twice to open all the doors (the idea behind pressing it twice and hearing the "chirp" is so that you know the doors are locked for sure).

Yes but only when you press the lock button twice!

 

It is an option you can turn off in the 2004 TL I believe but not on the TSX.

press once only....

 

every press after the first beeps the horn to let you know its locked for sure. you can do it 3 or 4 times and it'll keep beeping. press the lock button once when you are standing next to the car and see what happens.

 

I wish the TSX had the same beep as my CL-S. The CL-S didn't use the horn, it had a subtle electronic beep noice when you pressed it twice.

 

the horn is my security blanket.

If you don't like the horn, just press the lock button ONCE!

 

this may be a stupid question..but is there a way to reprogram the sound of the "beep"?

 

If he only pressed it once then there would be no need for 20 threads on this topic on the board already.
