supposidly its a bulb u can get at radioshack for only 2$..
i had mine apart the other day too when i installed the shifter base bushings..
i think u have to unscrew the whole switch... or its that blue one.. unscrew take it out hten the bulb will slide out..

it looks like a phillips screw.
unscrew it and the bulb comes out... i think its that one or the BROWN one.
please lmk if u find out... or anyone knows here.. which one it is. i need to change one of mine too and would rather diy instead of going to the dealership... [far away]

I think you are correct. it does look like the blue one whereas the brown ones are for the two orange lights for high or low. I am trying to figure out how to get the blue light out though.

They shouldn't charge you anything as long as you are still under warranty.

There's a whole thread on this board about this, including the RS part number I believe.

Try search.

I'd be curious to know if it's really a teeny tiny blue bulb, or a clear one with a blue rubber cap on it.

Here is the link that gave me the part number for the bulbs...

Radio Shack bulb link

The package looks like this so it is easy to find if and when you go to the store..

haha, awesome HoRRo! I wrote down the part #272-1092 and brought it to radio shack this time and they had it. I just swapped the bulbs and the backlights now work! Only costed me $1.70 too.

does anyone know the part # for the center console btw????

Much easier to just buy one at a dealer. Kind of expensive ($5) but you save time and hassle.

^^the only modification i had to do was cut the excess wire you see in the pic. the radioshack lights provide you with a few inches of wire, but you just need about an inch. also, the old bulb is actually not blue. that is just a rubber cap. take it off and transfer it to the new bulbs.

^^nope, no soldering involved. the hardest part is removing the center console without damaging it

curious if there is a led small enough to fit in there to alter the color. or if the green is a lens that is inside or if it is a bulb covering like honda used to use

I'm so glad to come across this thread as my passenger heat seat's light is not working as well (driver side is perfectly fine). I took it to my local dealership last weekend as I'm still under warranty plus I also have extended warranty. The service department told me that the LED bulb blew out. The warranty only covers one year or 20000 km on LED bulbs, and it would cost me about $150 for the bulb plus one hour of labour for a grand total of $250 cdn. I was shocked, and almost died of a heart attack.
My question is, is my problem identical to this, and can the bulb from Radio Shack solve the issue for me as well?
Thanks everyone!

I replaced bulb in sunroof switch and it was fairly easy. I got the part from the dealer which was about ~$8. What a rip off for such a small bulb..

but hey, it's working fine. and soon after, VSA light went out. This time, I just took the bulb out and put the bulb back in and it worked just fine.

So try taking out and putting it back before you buy anything
