GRRRRRRR......just venting

Yesterday as I walked to my car for lunch I noticed my rear tire looked really low. Pulled out the guage and measured 16psi. So after work I go to put air in the tire and immediately after I stop filling I can hear the hissing sound. GREAT...

To make a long story short, i found a nail on the inside of the tire right where the tire begins to curve to the sidewall. This sucks major @ss because apparently when it is in that location, the tire can not be patched or plugged. Therefore i had to spend $225 ($200 + 17.50 tax and $2.50 for NY disposal) to replace a tire that had less that 5k miles on it.

I was going to buy some falkens or other tires, but considering that the tires were brand new, I didn't want to have 3 news ones just sitting in my garage. This sucks big time.

I haven't had too much luck with the car. So far since April 10, when I picked her up I have had one jackass hit me while I was parked (luckily he is dumb and I caught him with paint on his bumper, and still parked next to me) :sqntfawk: , 3 parts that need to be replaced because the mechanics at the dealer scratch everything because they feel jamming a screw driver into things is the way to get parts off (steering column, center console, and cup holder), one guy fall asleep at the wheel and come into my lane during slow traffic, and now this. What next? I really hope this is the end of my bad luck.

SORRY everyone, just needed to vent because it seems the TSX is like a magnet of bad luck for me. :'(

So sorry to hear about your misfortunes. Look on the birght side, you have a great car to take you away. I suppose you could have bought new tires and then sold your Michelins. People copmplain alot about these tires but for all-season I think they are pretty good tires.

The tires come with warranty. But I don't know if it covers for damage like this. Check it out.

I feel your pain man. I went to Philly a couple of days after I got my car, and I got hit by people doing what they call the "Philly Tap", which consists of slamming the cars in front and behind you, while parrallel parking, until you make it into the parking spot. Gotta love all those great drivers out there!

You are luckie, oour OEM tires are come with 3 yrs/60,000km warranty. If it is non-patchable, you will be able to get a new one. All you need to pay is the portion you used on your old tires. According to what you said, and if you are not drifting alots, you properly can get a new tire for around $30CAD.

The tire is covered under warranty? I thought this was considered road damage and wouldn't be covered? Someone please explain? Or point me in the direction to get my money back?

It is a Exchange Warranty, ask your Acura dealer for more information.

See if there is a discount tire co in your area.

When i got a recplacement for my truck, my other three tires were so new they offered hazard warranty on the other three even though i didnt buy them there.

Oh, you got jipped on the tire.. they are 189 at discount tire.. (which is still way too f'n much)

And 176 at tirerack.com
