Got IS instead of TSX

Everyone, instead of getting the 2006 TSX, I bought the IS 250 AWD. Four words, I Love This Car. I will miss this forum. Good luck to all of you.

Very nice.

How about a little writeup about how you came to your decision. i.e. what features were important to you that led you to the IS over the TSX.

Yes they are.

AWD come with 17 inch wheel. In my opinion dont look good on the car.

18 inch RWD stockies are the way to go.

Should have gotten the manual... beautiful car. MSRP on those AWD? How is the powerband compared to the TSX?

TSX is slightly faster.

The IS250 AWD is the slowest of the IS's.

The IS250 RWD manual would be a better competitor.

For a good Lexus IS Forum you can check out www.clublexus.com or www.is300.net

I prefer clublexus.

Thank you everyone for your support. I still love the TSX, every time I see it on the street, I smile, TSX is really a nice car and what a value for your money. Few of you have asked question, I will do my best to answer.

Yes, these are 17" stock wheels.
Driving here in North East, I wanted more creature comforts. AWD, Navi, and

Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column
Lexus Memory System 12 way adjustable power driver's and passenger seat with power lumbar, outside mirrors and steering wheel.
Illuminated doorsill scuff plates
Power rear-window sunshade
Rain-sensing intermittent windshield wipers with mist cycle
Electrochromic (auto-dimming) outside mirrors with auto tilt-down in reverse
Bi-xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps
Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)
To name a few the list is very long. The invoice was $39,983 and I got it for $38,000 plus Tax title etc.. The total came to $40,830.00

TSX has a bunch of those features for $10K less, but I do like the looks of the IS. Congrats.

That IS is gorgeous. Lexus did a good job with the 2-tone interior. I've always thought an aluminum / wood combo would look fugly. Boy, was I wrong.

Congrats and visit us occasionally!

the IS250 was my original runner-up pick, but i couldnt' wait for the car any longer so i ended up springing for the TSX. not to mention the price difference for a comparably equipped model would be

the new IS is really nice but cramped inside. i almost lost control in the AWD model at the Taste of Lexus event tho haha. and yea, the 18-inchers are the only way to go. the 17-in makes the wheel gaps look huge...

congrats on your new ride tho! awesome machine.

Congrats on your lovely new car

$40K?! Ouch! Let us know how it drives. FWIW, the new R&T has a seven car comparo of AWD sedans of the which the IS250 is one.

The Canadian price of both the 250 and 350 is definently a head scratcher.

it looks like a great car. but i realize two things. I like the front facia of the TSX a lot more than the IS250. the doors on the side....they seem to extend down so far, i don't know how to say what i mean, but there's just something about how low the side of the car seems to go.

also, the interior looks very luxurious, but i think the color is a little too light for me, especially since i wouldn't mind slightly darker than the TSX parchment that i have.

i guess it goes....if you have it, and you like it, then why not. i personally couldn't justify 40k for this car, but it's because i'm not too thrilled about it. it is a nice machine though.

nice. i would have gotten black interior. the AWD is only avalible with 17" rims. the 18s are staggered, so i guess it would mess up the AWD system.

If I had $40K to spend on a car I might be driving the 2006 330i with sport package. Fewer creature comforts but the engine and handling ....

I just imagined how the IS boards might react if I posted "Got TSX instead of IS"

It has SOME in one form or another.

Tilt and telescope steering (not power, but still...)
Memory seats, minus some extras above
Intermittent wipers (not rain-sensing, but whatever)
HIDs

So it doesn't have all the features of the IS, I didn't say that it did. Geesh! Nitpicky!!

Anyway, don't want to hijack the thread.
