Good bye TSX!!

To make a long story short, Acura can not fix the drifting problem on my one month old Tsx. I've taken it back to service four times and the final time they f*ck the thing up.
They called me and and apologized and is now replacing or refunding me my money.
It's a beautiful car but, I don't want to get back into this again. I'd probaly get my money back and probaly look into a Honda or something.

So, I got an under body spoiler kit sitting around, brand spanking new, never installed, in carbon grey. If anyone is interested Email me. I will not ship, but will meet for an exchange. I'm located in the N.J. Nyc area. Looking for $850 firm. Email me if anyone is interested.

Thank you,

Mike

Yeah...sorry to hear you had so many problems with the car. Sounds like you might have gotten one that just didn't get screwed together correctly. Hope that it doesn't totally sour your Acura experience and that you'll consider another Acurain the future.

I'm a big fan of Honda/Acura. Because Acura did the right thing by buying the car back I will always keep H/A top of my list of cars to buy. This is my first Acura, but I've owned many previous Honda's.

96 Cbr 600
98 Cbr 900

98 Prelude SH/co-bought 99 Accord cpe ex.
00 S2000
02 Civic Si

I even mentioned I have the little items at home.
Honda lawnmower
Honda Snowblower.

I think this is why Acura is willing to buy back the car without dragging this too long.

Well, they aligned it twice and did some sub frame adjustment. Still it pulled. Funny thing is when the car is in neutral it will go straight. Only in gear it'll drift. Really odd..

happens with every car.

I recently read about a Mustang Cobra '03 or maybe '04 that kept having a similar problem. The frame was misaligned somewhere and they couldn't fix it. The lady got her money back under Lemon Law just as you did. What're you looking to replace the TSX with?

Did they by chance try different tires? Or rotate them to different positions?

I had a '99 SVT Contour that would pull like major torque steer when you would apply throttle at all speeds. I did some research and all the resposes I got was that the SVT Contour really didn't torque steer that much, yet my car did really bad. Dealer told my all front drive cars torque steer.

So I decided, just for the heck of it to rotate the tires. It was instantly gone. No torque steer / pull at all.

So I tried putting the suspect tire on the front on the other side. It now pulled like crazy, in the other direction.

I called the dealer and they acted like I was crazy. They said again "Sir, all front drive cars torque steer."

I called the tire manufacturer and they new immediatly what I ws talking about. I had a new tire in my hands the next day and they had arranged to have it swapped out at a local dealer.

The tire manufacturer said I had a bad belt. One that wasn't properly attached to the sidewall. It was causing the tire to twist under an acceleration load. The twist was causing pull.

Just an idea???

If Honda did this for ME, they'd have a customer for life! (They guy in the next office has been going through a lemon-law buyback procedure with GM on his Saab for ONE YEAR now!)

It sounds to me like the TSX geometry/alignment - either front or rear suspension's - is screwed up. I have a race shop do my front and rear alignments and wheel balancing. I've found dealer service departments in general to be pretty much worthless at this task. I think if the shop I use can make a car track perfectly at 200mph at Daytona, the Turnpike should be a piece of cake. My Volvo's history includes hitting a Class 10 tractor-trailer tire carcass dead on, but at nearly 150,000 miles the car now tracks perfectly and is vibration-free at speed.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the TSX. It seems that you received a pretty bad "Monday" car. Hopefully it doesn't sour you on the Acura/Honda line. Kudos to Acura for not putting you through the wringer and refunding your purchase price.

Yup they tried rotating, changed four new tires, and everything you could think of. Now not only it pulls harder, but the acura badge on the steering is pointing 10 o clock. Its really messed up now. I'm gonna get my money back and wait for the 05's and see if they fixed most of the problems. I might just go back to Honda's like in the past. I do miss my S2000 I just it doesn't snow here....So If anyone is still interested in the oem kit i have the Carbon in stock.
