Gear Shift Light - Is it supposed to light up

Hi,

Just bought the 08 TSX on friday. Monday I noticed the Gear Shift (AT) does not light up when a gear is selected (lights up fine on the dash, but not next to the gear shift itself). I was wondering if possibly the fuse is blown, or if it just doesnt light up in this model?

Thanks

Unless they have changed it in the '08 model, then no it doesn't light up. You have to look at the dash.

Are you referring to some internal lighting of the gear selection, or are you talking about the overhead (blue) lighting which shines down on the shifter?

just leave your lights on 24/7, it looks hot and they turn off automatically when you get out of the car.

Looks pimp when you unlock/lock your car and it turns on the lights

Yes, those letters do light up, though you can't really see it in the daylight.

Okay so i took apart my gear shift today, found the little light bulb on the left side.

Its a plug and play, it uses the same bulb in the glove box.

Pretty much pull up the center console then pull. on the silver plate, and on the middle left side you can see a little wire attached to it.

There you wiggle out the bulb and check if yours is burnt. Mine was black, i'm getting a new bulb later tomorrow.
