NOTICE TO ALL

Dealer has informed me last night there has been a slight change in the rebate because of Rebate Law in CA. This is NO big deal. This is how it works.

If U R paying cash, the dealer gives you your $500.00 AT the dealership. If UR financing, the $500.00 is sent to your lender and is applied to the principle of the loan. Reducing the loan by $500.00

Does anyone have a problem with this??

Yes the dealer told me about this since I told him I am financing from outside. Sounded fine to me. Even if he had given me the rebate, I would have still applied it to the principal.

So it works either way for me

Urgent Questions

To all those who has already contacted the dealer.

1. What accessories are u getting ? And at what price??

2. The dealer offered me the Protection Pack (mud guards, trunk tray and wheel locks ) for $210. Is that worth it?? Are u guys getting it at the same price? Or higher/lower??

3. How much would the all-season floormats cost? What price is the dealer offering for that??

A quick response is very appreciated, the dealer is gonna call me in an hour.

thanks in advance guys.

1. I asked for the fog light and they quote for $432.75 installed. I'm trying to have them give me fog light wiht the chrome center caps for that price.

2. I didn't get the package cuz I only want the wheel locks. The wheel locks itself is $50.

3. According acura's site, all-season floor mats' MSRP $132. At hond.com is $103 with free shipping.

Hope that will help.

What color did you get? And they have the VIN available for yours?

They told me they can't give me a contract to sign yet cuz the VIN is not available.

The sales guy said he is Fedex-ing me the contract (with the VIN, I suppose) and I can Fedex it back to him. That way I only have to do the trip once.

SF_TSX u might want to ask about that too. I am hoping to go there for the car on next Saturday. its a 150 mile trip one way to the dealer. That makes me think about the breakin period when driving the car back home. Should I do that in one shot or give it a couple of breaks??

Don't forget you all, It will take longer to get the manual trannys. They just don't produce enough of those yet over the autos. There is NO price difference between the two, so if you have a second choice for auto, you will probably get one sooner! Something to think about!

That's what they want to do with me as well. However, they said the VIN number is not available at this moment cuz the car is still on its way from Japan. They can't send me the paper work w/o the VIN number on it. It should take few more day from what they told me. That's give me more time to think about have them install the fog light or not.

Thanks for your advice, emperuman.

Yep, I have my VIN number
2 1/2 weeks at most

Break in period? How should it be driven?
My first NEW car, don't want to mess it up.

Just to let you all know, I signed the papers and put down the deposit yesterday for the PWP/at/non navi. Transaction was the easiest I've enver had-no high pressure sales on options. I'll pick up the car in 1.5-2 weeks.

They are supposed to give U something like voucher, I forgot what he called it, I will find out again and let U know. If U pay cash, U get it at the dealership. If U finance, it goes to your lender and applied to the principle on your loan.

Options-absolutley none, though I will get the all weather mats from an online source. I may get the trunk net but want to check it out first. We don't get much fog at all here so don't need the lights and don't want them stolen (happened on my old Jetta a while back.)

As for the $500.00 voucher they give a "we owe you" voucher that specifies they'll give us $500 back when 6 cars are sold-very straightforward. We should get the car in 2 weeks or so.

So I just talked with the salesguy (he seems like a good guy). He says I'm going to be #6 so that'll put us over the top on the deal!

He wasn't in the office so he has to get into the office and look at incoming cars or other dealers to see if he can get me what I want. He said 6MT with Navi is the rarer combination so would take a while to get the color combo I'm looking for.

On the accessories I asked for wheel locks, trunk tray and cargo net. Told him that I definitely didn't want the mud guards because of all the paint scratching problems people have had with them. He said the front ones might be standard? I thought that was weird (either all four come or not in the pkg, right?).

I also asked him about pricing on a stoneguard or xpel clear bra type package and he said he'd get that price for me as well.

I'll let ya'll know what he quotes me on accessories when he calls back.

What color combo are you looking at getting? I'm looking to get a MT/Navi as well.
