Front-ended at an intersection...
So I was on my way to the dentist earlier this week...waiting to make a left turn (not in the intersection yet, just in the left turn lane).
SUV (Honda Pilot) infront, SUV behind me. While waiting the Pilot goes into REVERSE. I immediately hit my horn; no use. She barrels into me at maybe 5km/h (~1.25m distance between cars). Her bumper clears my hood, and my baby sustains major damage... Front grille, bumper and hood all damaged. $5000 to repair. 2 weeks to get it back...and I'm stuck in a freaken CSX for that long!
She apparently was late, and didn't want to wait for the light to change...so she pops it into reverse WITHOUT looking! I just hope my baby comes back no worse for wear, but everyone tells me they never come back the same...
Quote from the lady after hitting me: "Can I drop of my kids to school before we exchange insurance...they're late!"

She backed into you because she was late? People do odd things. At least she didn't try to climb over your car like a bump in the road.
Good luck with repairs, hope everything turns out great.

They put you in a CSX?? What the hell is a CSX?!?
Glad to hear you're alright man, moron drivers are everywhere, and it seems now that the weather is nicer they're getting even stupider~!
you guys don't have 'em in the states... it replaced the EL that we also only had over here... basically a 'lux' version of the 4dr civic...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acura_CSX
the CSX type-s is what we get here instead of a 4dr Si...
only the CSX can get navi etc up here, civics can't...
just some minor differences between markets

The same thing happened to me in my Civic about 4 years ago. I was at a light and the kids in front of me pulled a "chinese fire drill" and the light changed as they were running around the car. Sooooo, I honked at them and I guess that made the driver nervous 'cause he jumped back into his SUV, put it in REVERSE, and backed right into me!
It was 1AM so I didn't have any witnesses but the kid still 'fessed up and his insurance paid for my new bumper and grill. Then, 5 days later, my landlady backed into my car and hit the EXACT spot the SUV had hit me. So I blamed it on her and collected two checks for the same parts/labor. BTW, I purchased a used bumper and grill from someone that had recently changed theirs for an aftermarket one and did the work myself. It cost me $150 in parts and I got $2500 total from both insurance companies

Oh my, a perfect profile of an American "career woman."
1. Have kids.
2. Drives an SUV, because she wants to show off that she/her husband can afford an expensive SUV.
3. Drives an SUV, because they want balls.
4. Works full time, even though her husband works full time making 90k/yr.
5. Has a three car garage with Cadillac Escalade and/or Hummer H2. (gay)
6. Lives in a big house with a fruits on a kitchen counter that you're not supposed to eat. (Mind of Mencia?)
7. Laments about how she is busy, and her kids are good little angels, and don't even know what her kids are doing behind her back.
8. She won't go to a part time job, and take care and spend time with her kids, while her husband is working hard. Not because they have to make a living, but they have to have Cadillacs/Hummers and live in a 800k house with a big screen TV.
I've seen a stupid bizzatch in a Hummer H2 puting lipstick on while commuting, and for some reason, I got so pissed off....

And no, I didn't drive aggressively because I had to commute with my mom.

End rant.
I'm in SE Michigan, where lots of women drive H2's, Suburbans, Trailblazers, Expeditions......
It is OK if they know how to drive, but most of them don't. I noticed that the career moms in minivans/cars are more civilized drivers, the ones in the tanks are the ones that don't give a crap, and makes innocent people like SoCalTrojan slam on his brakes.
It's not like they drive those things since they like to go camping/outdoor-ing and hauling kayaks and mountain bikes. (Again, some do.) They drive it since they want to have balls, have a status symbol showing that they can afford gas and make the expensive payments, and tries to justify it by thinking that it is safer in a crash. (I have heard this testimonial first hand from a friend's wife.)
But then, that is just one testimonial, so I suppose it is a stereotype.
Maybe they want a "safer in a crash" vehicle since they know they are a bad drivers?

Typical. Tell her to buy a new alarm clock. Wimmenz these days. She actually had the "balls" to ask you that.

There are idiot drivers everywhere. Sorry to hear about what happened. Glad you're OK.
