Hi all.

I need help.

I have a 99 tl. I am having problems with a loose front-end. I have replaced the shocks\struts and springs but the front-end still seems to be loose. When I say loose I mean that when I go down a bumpy road at a slow speed the front end will shake and rattle. My first thought was the shocks\struts.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

In addition I also have a humming in the front-end. I am not sure what this can be. I took the car to the dealer and they just kept giving me the same old "it is just tire noise" crap.. .. I have changed the tire and the rims three times and still get the noise. The faster I go the higher the pitch of the sound gets. I think it might be the CV joints.. (Had the bearings replaced by the dealer. at least that is what they told me and billed me for.)

You may want to check you ball joint, ujoint, and humming could be from the bearing.

 

huming usually comes from bearings or tires. I think i would find a different dealer. As for the other noise, typically thats ball joints

 

Thanks for your help.... In addition I have found that the steering has a bit of play in it. is there a way to make it tighter?

 

I am having similar problems with my 99, let me know what you find out... Just replaced struts and lower control arm on drivers side. I have a shaking at certain speeds (wheels just all balanced), pulsating under braking, and now grinding noise in reverse with wheel turned (CV Joint) I love Hondas but my love affair is waining... The lack of 'tightness' in the steering is a complaint that I have as well... Like I said let me know if you find anymore info...
