I finally did a really good job spiffing up the inside of my TSX and it still looks like new. I'm still knocking wood that I still do not have any door dings yet, although smart parking helps with the luck.

Other than the seat squeak that got fixed, I have had zero problems with the TSX. I am very very pleased with Acura quality.

I still gets lots of compliments about the car and about the colour. I will be making a road trip to BC in October and hopefully we take some good pics that I will post. I purchased a new camera so hopefully I can produce some quality photographs.
Glad you are still enjoying your TSX!

I was in your province earlier this summer to see the Rocky Mountains. Beautiful!!

I want to see BC later too. Yes, please take some nice pics of that gorgeous-colored car in BC!

I was about to get RBP but I looked at for a long time and couldn't shake the reality that it looks purple in the sunlight. I'm all about the actual color known as royal blue, but purple, not my cup of tea.

Mine is now a nice gray brown. The roads have been messy for over a month now and the temps have been too cold to wash it. I picked up my parents today and they did not recognize my baby.

I have never seen the purple either.

I know what you mean...in certain light it looks either Purplish or almost Black. Of course, bleeding purple and gold like I do, that was no bad thing!

Mine's a bit gray now, cause I don't have it here at college and my dad never washes it. This spring it's gonna be time for a clay & polish though

Just came back from a two week vacation where I took my 2006 RBP TSX down from Alberta through Montana, Idaho, Utah, California to Arizona and back and put on 8,853 km (5,520 miles).

The TSX was perfert and gave me no problems at all, was very smooth driving and was just terrific over all.

My gas mileage was once again great going down and back. Doing 120 kph (75 mph) in Canada and 81 mph (130 kph) in the US on the major highways, I averaged 7.2 L/100 km (32.7 m/ US gal, 39.2 miles/IMP gal)

The strange thing while I was in Arizona, driving the same highway speed, my gas mileage worsened to 8.6 L/100 km. The only thing I could think of is that there is something different with the Arizona gas. As soon as I filled up in Utah, my gas mileage return to 7.2.

Bottom line the TSX was a great tourer for my wife and I and our golf clubs and luggage.

Two guesses, both related to temperature (assuming Canada/Utah was colder than Arizona:

1. The colder, denser air might produce more power, so maybe the ECU was able to lean back the fuel mixture.

2. Arizona might have additives (used to be MTBE (?)) since it's a warm/hot weather climate. It's possible these detract from gas mileage.

haha what a late response to this

when my parents and i were shopping for my car... we narrowed it down to the acura tsx, honda civic, or the is250....

lol although the civic isnt really in the same ranks as the is or the tsx... i decided to pay a lil extra and stick with a car that i would keep through college and hopefully a couple years after that

TSX FTMFW!!

Bringing this post back from the dead, I just read through just about the entire thing! I'm going to be getting a 08 TSX tomorrow, well making the deal, should get it for a good price with the 2009's out now. Had wanted the 09 but changed my mind and the big difference in price makes the decision a bit easier. I was set to get black but RBP was my second choice, after seeing this thread and then the car in person I've decided to go with RBP. Great job Excited starting this.

And Tommy, if you come back to read this, I'm a fellow Terp! I saw your plate is a MD tag, but you're a Yankee's fan? I wonder if I've seen your car around College Park.

Just returning to say I still love my Royal Blue Pearl TSX. It is still running perfect, and it is still like new.

It is still the best car I have ever owned and I love it everytime I drive it.

I just made another post about how my lifestyle is going to change which may require me to make a change, but I sure hope not.

Love my TSX

So far I have avoided the dreaded door ding, although I have a small streak of white paint from a door. Otherwise it is still like new

Dings chips, scratches...you name it, I got it. I got my first ding about 1 month in, in the wheel arch, right where it cannot be repaired by the paintless method. it freed me from worry...c'est la guerre

I guess your not really a member of this forum until you get in on this thread... shortly before I bought my tsx, on a whim, I brought home an 07 royal blue pearl civic... unbeknown to me the car turned purple under many different conditions when clean(night florescent, direct sun) although under some lights I loved the deep, dark blue, I never understood why honda put a purple flake in there. My family had a field day over my "royal blue purple" (as they called it) car. I must admit, it does suit the tsx/tl much better than it did that civic as it is kind of a flashy color. That civic is gone, although it's time in my driveway was short lived, it will never forgotten. Glad to read you love your car... and btw the civic was very easy to sell, people really love that color!

Amusing you should say that, as I just got a ticket for a 4-dr Acura, purple. My car is debadged (I like the cleaner rear end) and the day was bright sunlight...go figure.

haha, sorry to hear about the ticket but that is kinda funny on the write up. Sounds like an easy dismissal, as far as I know they don't technically make a purple tsx... technically.

No, in Texas they need more than that. The dark blue/purple mix-up is a non-starter in this place...pure speed trap.

Well it's close to being an end to an era. I will be trading in my beloved Royal Blue Pearl 2006 TSX.

I am going to be retiring in two months and I will be spending my winters down south in the Phoenix area. We are golfers and will be having lots of visitors who are golfers and I wanted something easier to carry four adults and four sets of clubs.

The good news is that I will be staying in the Acura family and will likely buy a 2010 MDX next week. I will need a new license plate with my old one being TSX4EVR.

Quitter! Nah, I understand...but you should keep to '06 as a economical car for other trips...the trade-in can't be that good, can it?

The trade in was okay, but I didn't need three cars in retirement.

I can say that the TSX mechanically still felt like brand new. It was the best car I have ever owned and it was trouble free. People still love it and wonder how I am going to cope without it.

I can only hope that the MDX is as reliable. My license plate TSX4EVR will look a little strange on it. I guess I will get a new plate sometime in the future, but I will leave MDX off of it.

I pick up the MDX tomorrow.

I can't believe this thread is still alive. I read it before I bought my 06 Navi and here is is almost 4 years later. I agree the TSX has been trouble free. I just had it in for the power steering hose recall last weekend (The ONLY repair ever on the car since I bought it) and they gave my an MDX for an overnight loaner. We put 60 miles on the car. Very nice car, quiet and roomy and much more upscale than the 1st gen TSX. I liked the HHD and new navi with traffic and weather. Not crazy about the knob input but I was getting used to it. Definately take it easy on those corners though, it is a bit more top heav then the TSX. Congrats on the new car.

You get used to the "knob" and it becomes quite intuitive.

Without a doubt the technology in the 2010 MDX is superior than the 2006 TSX as it should be, but both vehicles are very special in their own right.

You actually cannot compare the two because they are so different and the driving experience is so very different.

The TSX was a very special car and I will always rave about it.

The MDX is also very special and will meet my new needs. It is a totally different feel, which is hard to describe, but I feel like I am on the bridge of a starship.

I went with a white pearl colour.

My second favourite colour after RBP on the TSX was the white TSX and I guess it stuck with me.

I will be spending a fair amount of time soon in Arizona and the white colour will be great for the heat and the dust.

I tested out the collision avoidance features today as a young chick pulled out of her stopped lane directly in front of me. I had to sharply swerve and brake. I could feel the seat belts tighten and they helped control the vehicle. It didn't hurt that I had spider sense that someone might come out and reacted immediately.
