Electronic Rust Module

Final Coat Rust module, shoots out currents through the entire car to prevent oxidation and slow the rusting process down. http://www.capfinalcoat.com/

Anyone has it? is it effective? Does it really work, if so it is a lot cleaner and can replace drilling holes and spraying your car every yr.

Theres already 1 Acura dealership that sells this.

If the Acura dealership sells this, ask if they will give you a 10+ year warranty for rust on the body. I want to see if they will back up what they sell.

I do believe our car won't rust in any significant places if you get this.

Then again, I do believe our car won't rust in any significant places if you don't get this, making the purchase, um, less than extremely valuable

I'm really a n00b when it comes to electricity, but doesn't the ground on the battery already do this?

Cathodic protection is real. It is normally used on things like the hulls of ships, underground pipelines, offshore drilling platforms, bridge pylons, etc. Anything that will be immersed in a corrosive environment for a lengthy amount of time gets it.

This is the first time I've seen it applied to a car though, and I'm having trouble understanding why they claim to use a small AC voltage in this case rather than a low-current DC source, which is what CP usually relies on due to the fixed electronegativity of steel (or whatever you're using).

If they can give you some kind of guarantee in writing, though, I say go for it. It can't hurt, and that little driver box sure as hell better not cost too much either.

Electronic rustproofing only work when the "subject" is submerged. They do nothing for cars.

FTC Ruling Regarding Electronic Rustproofing
In March 1996, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) ruled against claims for an electronic rust product called "Rust Evader." The product, that connects to the vehicles battery under the car hood, was claimed to prevent rust in autos through cathodic action. The FTC ruled that the Rust Evader Corporation deceptively represented salt-water demonstrations and other tests as proof that the product would protect motor vehicles from corrosion. Then-president David McCready was barred from future use of the names "Rust Evader" or "Rust Buster" for this or similar devices and from claiming that they prevent automobile corrosion.

Absolude, did you check this website www.capfinalcoat.com Its not from Rust Evader Corp or Rust Buster. They garantee no rusting from the "inside" out whatever that means.

Can we get away without rust proofing our cars? For those who live in places that have long winters too. Rust will occur naturally but as long as its not all over and in large spots, I can live with that.

Isn't our cars coated when manufactured?
