I wouldn't cosider 31hp a huge difference. especially since you're comparing a I-4 to a V-6

tsx - hp = 180, tq = 144

accord - hp = 211, tq = 188

edit:
try to copy the link and paste it into a new brower. it worked for me.

yea but that 180 HP and 144 TQ on the dyno is due to the the torque converter locking up, it didn't really get that much HP. It was more like 170ish HP and 135ish TQ. So that is 40-50 HP more and 40 more TQ and the torque curve it much higher the whole way across. Either way, i think its a little on the low side for a TSX but still.....

EDIT: Look at the 5.5k mark.....TSX has 125 TQ and the Accord has its max of 180TQ in addition to the HP difference......198 compared to like 135....that is significant!

that's fine, but you're forgetting you're comparing a 3.5L v-6 to a 2.4L I-4

the only fair comparison here is going to be comparing the tsx to the 4 cylinder accord.

otherwise you should be comparing the accord to a tl.

Oh i totally understand, i'm just stating the misinterpetation of the graphs. The new accords engine can't be compared to the I4......however, compared the the stock TL, its not far behind at all, which is why they need to step up the Acura in this new lineup, big time!!!

The point is a 5AT in any car sucks!

Add sh-awd to the 5AT and watch number drop more.

I still would pick a 5AT over a 6MT

This thread is unnecessary, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that cause I'm a "TSX" fanboy. But, compare a V6 to a L-4 is wrong, and they will produce power in different engine speed according to its setup.

However, if this thread is compare w/ the "new Accord" L-4 (not the base) engine, then it will be interesting. I'm not sure if they are using the same engine, but the output is very similar, and they can use 87 Octane gas....

As far as I can tell, it is to show that a 3.5L V6 has more hp and torque than a 2.4L I4. Until I saw this thread, I had no idea that this was true.

*cough*
