Don't like new Hazard Light button.

It's the little things ...

but does anyone else here feel that the new Hazard Light (right in the middle of the dash) button is a downgrade.

the old one was a cool triangle set into a funky ribbed plastic base that kept the continuity of the vents/upper dash.

The new one (with the passenger airbag light) looks more like it came from the Tandy parts bin IMO.

I actually thought the triangle shaped button was a bit too gimmicky. Glad it's back to normal now.

Just switch it out later. It pops right off. Very easy install.

& While I'm Complaining

What is up with the new driver information system<little screen between spedo & tach) using a *red* color scheme for 06 ? The car isn't an audi. I thought the color scheme of the car/instrument panel was electroluminescent white with blue accent/lighting. Not: Red, White, Blue, Green with blinking yellow lights.

Somebody needs to tell the designers the color scheme of the car and to Stick to It !

Wow.. it was so small I hadn't noticed... definately a "downgrade" from the 04/05. It looks just like a Toyota now.... or VW... or F-150 or... (insert any other car brand here) (just thought I'd say it before someone else does)

I was all set to buy this car, but the extra HP, better Navi, memory seats, extended warranty, etc are not worth it now... this is a deal breaker for sure.

Seriously... we all get it... 04/05 owners like thier cars... we all think they are nice too or we wouldn't be on this forum in the first place, but it is the 06 for me, hazard button or not... rims or not... fog lights or not...

As Rodney King said "can't we all just get along?"

Yup, but not in that post.

What a HORRIBLE button, I would NEVER own a car with a hazard button that looks like that.

are we seriously having a discussion about a hazard button? Who F Cares!! not to mention its a button you will likely never use in the entire ownership of any honda made product.
why cant people just say "wow look at all the new and cool changes acura made to the TSX"
you know if there wasnt an 04 or 05 TSX to compare this to and this was the first TSX out nobody would be saying they didnt like this or that.

I agree, if this is a deal breaker for anyone they should be institutionalized. However, this is a forum devoted to the discussion of the Acura TSX and it is a change, so we are discussing it.

When I got my 04 there was a lot of talk about the green ring being better then the blue ring, I didn't get it! I thought(and still do) that the blue ring around the key hole looks better then the green one. But it was a change, and we talked about it until we found some other tiny change that means nothing to anyone, but is fun to talk about none the less.

Wow, that's an ubber anal nitpick....

It's a hazard button, it has 1 purpose in my life......to never be needed since I own an Acura and hope to never be stranded on the road.

If this is the biggest interior nitpick then Honda must be doing a ok in my book...

Personally, the sunroof controls--which haven't changed at Honda since the early years of the Clinton administration (from what I've read)-- would be my biggest issue, if any, w/ the interior.

Regardless, I am still saving up for my '06.

Agreed. After looking at the 06 dashboard pictures, I'm so much more glad to own a 05 model. I even like the font better in the old model.

I love my car!

But Why

I'm confused. If the Acura's are so reliable then this button should really not be needed very often but they put this button so big and right in the center. Maybe Acura changed the reliability of of the 2006 models and thought it important to make it easy to get to this button Of course I'm kidding. But man. Really, one of the most reliable cars the road and the biggest button on the dash is the hazard button....

Cause if you're holding a cell phone in one hand and a Starbucks in the other, trying to downshift while applying makeup and checking out the cute guy driving the Saab in the next lane over then you need a big button so you can still hit and let the people behind you know that you're a FREAKING HAZARD!!!!

jlukja, who needed to vent.

Cool

Old thread, but are the 04-05 & 06-08 TSX hazard buttons interchangeable?

^^ Never mind, I saw pictures of the back of the hazard button between the 04-05 & the 06-08 and the harness input is different and wont fit. Of course the module itself will pop in just fine but you won't be able to make it a working buttton since the harnesses are different between the Model years.
