Consider yourself lucky. I ordered mine on July 3rd. It wasn't built until the 23. No word yet on when it might get here.

I'm sure they all come into California, though, so they'll have to ship it across the country to you after it's released from the port, which can take a few days as I understand it. With luck, you'll have it by the end of next week.

And consider yourself even LUCKIER! I ordered my TSX at the end of June, about a week before you. My dealer still has not been able to obtain a Unit ID from the factory that even says they will even build my TSX!

The Unit ID is a unique ID that also indicates the month in which the car is to be built.

When I put down a deposit, I did not obtain a Unit ID. My car was suppose to have been here by this past weekend. I stopped by the dealer on Saturday, and I saw --coincidentally-- the exact same spec car that I ordered. The car was awaiting pick up by the buyer--which obviously wasn't me. My salesperson said they traded for that car from another dealer that someone else had been awaiting since May.

(Incidentally, at the end of June no other dealer showed "my" car coming in but only to my dealer (not even the dealer in the other city). I haven't been able to reconcile the end-of-June log file with what my salesperson told me.)

It was very unsettling to see what logically (to me) is "my" car awaiting pickup by someone else. What can I do?

The MSM I put a deposit on supposedly recently hit land in San Diego. Why they all arrive in the southernmost point of the US is a mystery to me (why not Oakland which is more centrally located on the West Coast, and more importantly less than 50 miles from me). I've been told that it will take roughly 2-3 more days for the car to make it up to the Bay Area, but if you've got to wait for it to make it all the way to Conn from SD....ouch. Are you sure they don't also ship to some East Coast location (can't they go around through the Panama Canal or something)?

Five weeks ago I went to my local Acura dealer and expressed interest in the Meteor Silver. They didn't have any and "called" to do a dealer trade with some other LA area Acuras, which turned out to be "empty". They looked on a list of what was coming in and said a MS was slated to come in 2-3 weeks. So I put down a $500 deposit and waited. No phone calls. I came in to the dealer two and a half weeks later. "Oh, we're sorry, the one that had your name on it is to be a service car." ummmm, wouldn't they have known this and how come no phone calls to let me know what was going on? So I called another dealer and they actually had a MS and gave me a better offer and held it for me w/o sec dep. till the next day. I went back to the dealer by my house and they said they would match it and immediately got on the phone to do a dealer trade. "OK good, we found you one, but I have to give him an MDX, and I don't really want to do that, but since your such a loyal customer, blah, blah,blah.." I get a call the next day, "wow, you know what, the TSX that the other dealer was going to trade had all of this equipment on it, a lowering kit, like $5000 worth of stuff that I didn't think you would want, sorry". Once again, ummmmm, wouldn't the other dealer mention all that stuff on the car when she first called? Needless to say I felt like I was getting the run around and was becoming irate with all the B.S. I called the other dealer who said they sold the car they were holding for me but another came in that day. So, of course, I went straight to that dealer and got my car that night. Whew! I would say to just call all the dealers in your area and not to wait on just one because, the truth is I don't think there is much trading going on between dealers with the TSX (even though they say they can/will) They are a hot item and no dealer wants to let them go. I don't know if you are getting the run-around, but I was, so I just took my $$$ somewhere else.

What dealer in CT did you buy from? I've been talking to Devan Acura in Norwalk, but I haven't ordered the car yet. I never bought a new car and the process is annoying enough so that I'm considering just keeping my '96 Integra through the winter. I'm curious what type of deals people are getting in CT and how long it's taking to get the car delivered - I'm interested in a Black/Parchment, no navi, AT.

Thanks!

I had a better experience then a lot of people here... maybe I can help out. I bought my TSX in Chapel Hill, NC and when the dealer found my color combo (black/parch) it was 'on the boat' off the San Diego coast. It spent about 2-3 days there, then was shipped to some distribution center in Alabama. After that, it was only 2 days to NC. He said that Alabama (I think it was there) is where the east coast cars go before they are shipped to dealers. He also was able to track the car every day (or so he said) and would email me with 'current tracking shows it in Oklahoma as of yesterday' so maybe you can get your dealer to do that.

The total wait was less than 2 weeks from the boat first pulled into San Diego, and maybe 1 week to cross the country by truck. I hope it makes a quick journey for you.

Part of the problem is that I've ordered the Carbon Grey with Ebony--by far the most popular color.

Sometimes I'm baffled and stunned at the extremely slow ordering process for my car, yet in the weeks after I placed my deposit, the same dealer can order two other same spec Carbon Grey cars but in the other interior color (which I don't like), and those are scheduled to arrive later this month!!! I sense that I don't have all the pieces to this curious puzzle. I'm a very patient person, but this is very unsettling.

It's been 51 days, and there's still no sign from the factory that my car is even being scheduled to be built. The dealer's backorder log shows some customers' cars are scheduled to be built this November!

I think a truck heading across I-10 and then I-20 will get across the country in 3-4 days which is a lot faster than going through the panama canel. I assure the MSM will be worth the wait.

Oklahoma isn't on the way from San Diego to Alabama. Dont believe car salesman. Stop worrying about where it is it will get there when it gets there and until then it is someones elses car. When you guys act this desperate you are inviting a car salesman to take advantage of you. Be cool!

Sound like you are dealing with a small dealership. I have not heard of anyone waiting more than 2 months

Thanks for the words of advice Packrat. I've been avoiding calling my dealer everyday, but it certainly is a temptation not to march over there and wring his neck until he hands me my keys. I just want my friggin' car!!! Now!!!

OK, I just got a call from my dealer and my car has finally arrived!!! I guess the adda ge is right "Ask and you shall receive". Anyway, today is exactly three weeks after I first went in and put down my $500 refundable deposit. At that time, my car was already on a ship bound for SD, so I suppose I am lucky that I didn't have to wait another three weeks for it to be made and loaded up. Everyone else who is still waiting out there, I feel (felt) your pain, but be patient!!!

I'm picking up my MSM/5AT/non-navi tonight from Stevens Creek. I feel like I have been waiting so long...I can't believe I'm actually taking it home in a couple hours. Plus, I have a long commute this week and actually look forward to doing the drive (SJ to SF) in my new car!!!
