I have 2212 kms on my TSX so far and I am also waiting for the first oil change. I have a 3000 km trip coming up and a 7000 km trip. Come June I will have close to 14,000kms.

The long trips will give the TSX a real test.

I have past the 1 month anniversary as well. It seems a lot longer, like 755 posts longer.

Sometimes I wish I could drive more... but living on an island in a smallish city (~400,000) means short drives most of the time. I'm only up to 1200km after 2 months.
Hmmm... I'll need to get some chains, so I can take her to the mountain for snowboarding...

Yeah, fillups are about $55.

Guys, does this make sense...

i called back my broker to see if he can go lower than 39k (the original quote i got from him a month ago) and he told me that the car is now $39,800. there is no way i can argue with him because no dealer will ever go down to 39k freigh and pdi included...

what to do!?

you can try carcostcanada.com and have them deal for you. They may be able to negotiate a better deal for you. One thing with dealers is you've gotta be prepared to negotiate for hours for the deal you want. Even though they say that's all they'll do they will go lower. You just need to find that meeting point where they'll sell and you're comfy buying.

I ordered two weeks ago: $36,300, including air, fuel, admin, freight & PDI for an 06 6MT in North Toronto; PST & GST extra. No haggling involved, and the deal was done in 5 minutes, after my wife had test driven a demo. I did have an idea of what I wanted to spend, so thank you everyone for your input.

RBP/black due in April, as requested.

With four adults and one nine year old aboard (about 700 lbs of people), short-shifting everywhere, my wife was yelling at me to slow down when just accelerating in a straight line; I never had this car doing more than 65 kph. The 06 is stonger.

Yeah, that would be w/o navi. And on the delivery date, my wife travels by plane, my elder daughter's at university, until mid-April, and I want to have the car rustproofed (cost not included in the $36,300) before it touches any salt.

I also used carcostcanada.com, and while there was an offer for a TSX from a broker, for about a thousand less, I wanted to buy the car from the dealer who will be servicing it for the next 160,000 km.

You often hear that you can get the best deal on a new car near month-end when the salesman is anxious to make quota.
What time of the month did you guys buy your cars. How hard did you have to work to get these deals?

i was told end of the month is best, as they do have those quotas. but to be honest, i think those that used that website (www.carcostcanada.com) negotiate well.

Btw: are car brokers just guys that know how to negotiate? or do they have good contacts with industry?

Both. They do enough deals with dealers they have a rapport with them but you're also paying them to negotiate for you and that's what I assume they'd do.

Do these prices include wheel locks, cargo net and floor matts among other things?

With carcostcanada.com paperwork in hand, it took about ONE minute to get $1,500 off 06 MT non-navi. That was enough for me.

Two months before, I'd sent an email to a particular salesman, who was recommended by a friend who'd just bought a TL demo, to introduce myself, and give some background about what we were looking for, and some of the alternatives (ie. BMW 323i).

The whole thing was really surprisingly low key.

My price included wheel locks and an umbrella. When I bought my car, I was told Jan was a slow month. Go to a broker though and get a price, then you can see if the dealer can beat it or if they refuse, just buy it from the broker. In either case, it is win-win for you.

Mine included the wheel locks, four splash guards and floor mats. I didn't do the broker thing but perhaps if I had I would have saved a few bucks.

mud flaps, wheel locks, block heater and floor mats. no dealer badges whatsoever

mods so far, M3 style lip, protection 1 stone chip protection (okay not really a mod but meh), Tein H-tech lowering springs.

This week we put on the hitch for the trailer. Total cost so far, CDN$1200 (part, shipping, duty.) Installation charge to come. Most likely no more mods till we trade in and get something else!

Tell me more about your M3 lip spoiler. (I kind of soured on them after getting two defective ones delievered.)

Please also tell me about your Tien H-tech lowering springs. What difference did you notice? How much? Did you install it yourself?

I also got the block heater.

Odd... I got my spoiler from them on the first try w/o a problem. The only issue I had was with them claiming I didn't pay. I've been getting more and more of these ebay disputes lodged against me even though I pay within an hour or so of the auction ending.

Anyway, it was on there without a prob. Hardest part was trying to line it up well while knowing that you'd only have a few mins to remove and reposition it if you screwed up.

I had the H-tech springs installed by the dealer, $450, urgh. It dropped the car about an inch and looks very classy, like a 325 or 330i bmw. It's definitely noticeable especially when you get close to it however not soo much that you feel you're going to scrape your underbody. The handling's a little better but will benefit more from the rear sway bar as she still swings out a lot on those cloverleafs.

I got the block heater but haven't used it yet as I put a heater in my garage.

Very nice helraiser.
Such a perfect touch to make the TSX even better looking. You don't go over the board, and at the same time still very classy.

Wheel locks, mats, umbrella, 3 tanks of gas.

I had my carcostcanada paperwork with me, but never needed to pull it out. I was given $1500 after the first drive before any kind of negs were started. About 1 hour of negs later, I came out with the price I got. I went in on November 31 about 30 mins before closing, after I got off work and got some food. +1 car for his Xmas bonus and year-end quotas.

Thanks for all the great info guys!
Now I need to decide on colour - blue or graphite. (The 04 TL that I am getting rid of is black and the 00 Integra I had was silver - I'm running out of colours!!)
Will be a 6MT w/o navi

Is the roadside assistance still provided at no charge?
Does Acura still throw in the first 2 service appointments for free?

RBP, you know you want to. I had the same choice, RBP or Graphite.

Yes, and maybe. I believe the service deals are dealer dependent.

Pearl white is a Gem!
and i am not too sure if they offer the first two services free. As mentioned above, i am pretty sure since all dealers are independent, they all make their own decisions. (+ i do not own an Acura TSX to know)

...24 is about to start!!!

Are the H-Tech springs Acura parts? Does Acura make the rear sway bar?

I could only see one of the pics. (The very last one) If you could repost them I would love to see them. I wouldn't mind doing both of those mods.

I am clearly bias but I much prefer the blue to the graphite.

My dealer threw in the first two service appointments and I do have the one year road side assistance.

Congrats on your decision to get the TSX.

odd.. should work now. i just signed into imageshack and they were all there. go figure. had to refresh this window before they showed up though.

The H-tech springs are made by Tein - well known and highly reputable company for aftermarket performance stuff. I don't know if Acura has lowering springs but I know they've got sport ones. Not sure if those are just stiffer or if they lower the car also.

Acura doesn't make a rsb either - at least not that i know off. I'm most likely going to get a Progress RSB as it bends in the right spots to make way for the exhaust, unlike the Comptech which I'm told rubs against the exhaust.

By the dealer installing them, does that help address any warranty issues?

Thanks

Yup, dealer said there wouldn't be any warranty issues if I went elsewhere as long as they were reputable companies (OK tire & muffler for instance.) I tried OK tire but they quoted me the same price as the dealer.

The dealer doesn't warranty the part but they do the work.

edit: you're right, the difference is noticeable. It's even more so because now when I walk up to or beside the car it seems like it's sitting so low heh.

Quick Reply: Cdn's, what price are you paying for 06 TSX?
