Please dont assume anyone is rich just becuase of their possessions.
You dont know their situation. For example me and my co-worker were talking and I was telling her how my mom refuses to go into debt, and she made the comment 'yeah my family has really nice things, but we're in a lot of debt'

You never know if they have money or are in a lot of debt, or maybe theyre just regular joes!

But also, it's very annoying when people assume that you're rich just 'cause of the things you have. I know from experience.

Please and thank you. = )

It's hard to say you're just like every one else when you're 15 with a car this nice. Regardless of the implication of assumed wealth, you're driving a really nice car at a very young age. You are by definition, privileged.

Please don't infer any commentary beyond exactly what I just said.

Haha!! privileged! I like that.
I just hate having people call me "rich" because I know I'm not.
But privileged- most definately.

It looks like you have an '04 or '05 which can be acquired used for under $20G, and that's a practical price to pay for a car. It's a very good buy. If they had bought you a brand new TSX for $30G I'd question the wisdom of going $10G over what I arbitrarily define as a reasonable. And not having to do with prices specificly I like the practice of making teenagers drive crappy cars to make a nice car a reward they can grant themselves sometime later.

Whether they are jealous cause they love TSX's just as much as us.

I never quite understood that. Why if someone is jealous would they key your car. Be Jealous and get over it. Get an education, get a job that pays well and go buy the same car for yourself. You don't have to ruin it for everyone just because you are having ill thoughts about someone elses posessions. If they are jealous cos they love the TSX as much as we do then feel free to tell us or write a little note that says 'I dig your ride' and stick it to the window of the car and leave it at that!
I get jealous sometime when I see a guy driving a new, rare sports car, but I don't think to myself 'I got to go scratch that thing up with my keys, and it will make me feel better'. I think the opposite and stand there for a minute looking at the car, admiring it and appreciating the design and then feel privileged that I got to see one with my own eyes.

Right. Unfortunately, we share the earth with mentally ill & lazy people, and we pay for their medical insurance. Ever see the bumper sticker, "Work harder, Welfare people depend on you". Some people get their jollies from vandalizing property. Generally, if a person has "no life", they end up doing "no life" behavior.

I remember a period of time when I was in high school I saw that the kids from the wealthy part of town were all starting to show up in nice brand new cars, and the school news paper had a section called ride of the month and heap of the month. Some people thought it was fun to take note of who had the best and worst of someting, but more than likely the kids with the heaps payed something for their cars or took it as a pass-down while the kids with the new cars received them outright or under the pretense of being a reward for keeping their grades up. Seeing other people acting smug and self satisfied over their good fortune, exuding and undeserved pride in themselves or in the financial superiority of their family can be very frustrating at any age but particularily in high school. It's one thing to appreciate the randomness of good fortune but it's another when the beneficiaries revel in their awesomeness.

Not all of the "privileged" kids are the same in high school. I don't know about other areas, but in Orange County most kids with nice cars dont' really flaunt them that much. There were 2 TSXs, a G37, G35, a few C230s, many Jettas and Beetles, some RSXs, and none of us with those cars show them off. Then right at the end of the year some kid got a Porsche Carrera and he would always be out there revving his engine and going fast in the parking lot. He always talked about how great it was and was giving people rides like it was the best car ever. A week later I found out his car cost half as much as mine and had 8x the mileage and it was in a poor mechanical state. So some of us with nice cars keep quiet and just enjoy them, but then there are douchebags like that kid that think they are the best and their car is the best even when is isn't much compared to most of the other "nice" cars.

Also, most kids in high school don't really know what is nice. Everyone who knew a little bit about cars knew that Porsche wasn't that nice, but to everyone else they all thought that kid was really rich cause he has a porsche. It just shows how smart most teenagers are

As for LukeaTron- you need a revised look at teenagers. You claim that you were one of those jackass teenagers, but you were part of a minority. Most teenagers are reasonable and respectful, only a few of them are the jackass jock types that go around and do stupid shit. Don't generalize teenagers because a small percent are stupid. I've met a lot of stupid adults but I don't go around saying they should all be put on an island because they are senile.

Even if teenagers with good fortune don't flaunt their status symbols it's still easy to understand how it can make other teenagers with insecurities feel wronged and depressed about not measuring up. High school isn't exactly an institution of emotional maturity.

Nope, you just need about 7 more years of life. Yes I'm making a generalization and yes there are exceptions but they are rarer than you believe. You can't see the forest through the trees. The notion that the "jock types" are the only problem is pretty clear evidence of that. From your point of view, only the people you dislike are assbags, whereas when you look back on the whole experience later you'll realize that you and every one you know were equally douchey, just in different ways.

You can try to argue but just wait, you'll come around one day.

LukeaTron is right, "Auto accident and teens statistics also show that teenagers are four times more likely to be killed in an auto accident than are people older than twenty five." - some website. If douchebaggery was limited to jocks you wouldn't see such proportions. The statistics indicate poor judgment at the very least and, in my opinion, over-confidence in their mental faculties. When you're a teenager it's hard to comprehend how this can be but when you hit the age of twenty five or so something magical happens and it makes perfect sense. Statistics show that something does in fact change.

It's not only immaturity. There is also just a level of experience that goes with it. But yes, unfortunately, many teenagers feel to be invincible and that nothing can happen to them. Kind of sad.

I think the higher rate of fatalities is indicative of the feeling invincible more than a lack of driving experiance, i.e. I can drive and text and the same time, I bet I can pull that corner at 60mph, there's probably nobody in my blind spot, I'll pull out into the road and deal with whoever might be speeding at me when I get there. I bet if you could look up the cause of all the fatalities it would be 99% poor judgement 1% honest mistake. That feeling of invincibility comes from not perceiving the world well enough to recognize the dangers that are all around. When I think back to being a teenager my thought is that I was waaay too confident in what little experience I had.

There was a study that just came out recently where they put a bunch of people in a machine called a functional MRI. It's very much like regular MRI only it can take it's pictures a whole lot faster. This provides the ability to see changes in blood flow in a relatively short amount of time (~1 second). What they found is that a region of the brain that plays a critical role in stopping us from acting on impulse doesn't do much until we're about 25 years old. The statisticians figured this out long ago but it was only recently that science has been able to explain why.

Experience is an important factor but it appears there is also a strong physiological influence as well.

If you look at it that way, everyone adult or teen is a douche. You think teenagers are douchbags, well I could say you are being a douche (I'm not saying you are, I value others opinions, it's just an example). I could think of a reason to call anyone a douche if I really wanted to. I bet when you are older you will look back and think everyone you know right now were "douchey". It's merely how you perceive things. For example I have about 6 8-10 year old kids on my street and I think they are all annoying as hell. But at that age I would have loved being out there and playing their games. I think people will always have a biased perception of their age group.

Yeah, probably a little bit. For the general population, the asshole potential seems to peak around 17 to 20 though. Most the people I associate with went to college and not being stupid really seems to help temper the effect. Some of my more... eh, "colorful" neighbors might as well still be teenagers even though they're in their 40s.

By and large though, you'll find yourself making much better decisions once you hit your mid 20s.

My neighbors palm tree branch landed on my bonnet last year when there were strong winds and left a huge scrapping over the top coat. I tried Quixx on it and was gone completely. Its so easy to use, and I was worried it would effect the shine but its looks new.

Please take note I do not work for Quixx or have anyone in my family that works for them. I'm blown away by this product and feel as though I don't have to panic and kick the cat the next time I get a scratch.
