Blinking Maintenance Light

Do you guys know what it means to have your maintenance light blink for about 30 seconds on start up? I do not remember this happening before. I'm still about 2000 miles until my oil change. I have 17,000+ miles on it now. The last oil change was at 11,000. The maintenance light does go away, so I'm not sure. I remember the light coming on initially, but it seemed to go away after roughly 10 seconds. Now it seems like it is staying on longer before it goes away.

Any ideas.... weird.

I forgot to mention that I've lost the manual. I was reading it on a trip and left it in the hotel room.

sorry.

np - it starts with a brief blinking, gets progressively longer, and eventually stays on to piss you off until you visit your dealer. I think it starts at 8K ???.. though mine is now blinking at 22.9K so I don't get the interval

If you follow the "severe" recommendation in the manual, you can safely ignore it altogether.

there's a way to reset it in the manual, but I don't know it off of the top of my head

For a second, I thought you meant 22 million miles!

1. Turn off engine

2. Press and hold the Select/Reset knob in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch to ON(II)

3. Hold the knob for about ten seconds until the indicator resets.

Taking your manual on trips and reading it in your hotel room? You're just the kind of person we welcome here.
