beware of crack grannies...
wanted to share a sob story...
basically was going to theater with the wife to see a movie: we stop at a red, light turns green, i glance right (no one), left (no one) and so i go, along with the car to my right and slightly slower the car to my left... all of the sudden BAM. airbags deploy, i get smacked in the face, the cabin fills with the chemical smoke that is released when the airbags deploy. i barely get the car over to the left side of the street (it was four lane, one way street) get out and its all destruction-- there are bits and pieces of the front of my car everywhere.
the lady who hit me ran a completely red light-- there were three of us in the middle of a 4 lane intersection when she hit. i was the unlucky one who took all the damage, she veered away from the first car only to take out the front end of my car. her response "i didn't see the light." what kills me is that there wasn't even any screeching or anything else like that to indicate that she was even TRYING to stop... AND she had her grankid in the back seat! i mean who does that?! her friends that came to get her were all saying "oh poor kid, have to go through this and she's a crack baby too!"
in the end three of her tires popped, her minivan got completely spun around. my car? toast. i babied that thing (prob like most of you do yours) and it was in pristine condition. the back seat even looked as new as it did when i took it home, cause very few people have ever even used the back seat.
i just got a call from the insurance company and they're totally lowballing me on how much the car was worth, so looks like i'm not getting another tsx.
what does this teach you boys and girls? watch out for crack grannies, they will cause irreparable devastation.
drive safe y'all, take care!
here's pics of the damage.

My condolences. It's always other fucktards who screw up the things that we put our pride and effort into. Then, to add insult to injury, insurance companies bend the truth so that they can pay out less money. An unfortunate reality of living in this society. *sigh* I'm very sorry about your collision and can totally relate (just got into one recently, though not as severe as yours). Hope you and your wife are OK physically as well as mentally, and good luck dealing with said fucktards.
Sad to see that. I'm glad you're okay, though.
As for dealing with the insurance company, I learned from watching a friend who was lowballed after his several years-old Z was totalled. He took photos to his insurance agent, showing the condition his car was in. I'm guessing you have some photos you can use. Fight them and make sure that they know this car was not your average beat-up vehicle. Heck, I can even see from your accident photos that the car was in terrific shape inside and out. The damage from the accident is the only parts that do not look brand new.
