Best Product for Cleaning Inside of Windows
Best Product for Cleaning Inside of Windows
I have been trying to clean the inside fo my windows and I get terrible streaking. It's almost worse after cleaning them than before. I've tried the normal household window cleaners. Any suggestions on a good product to clean the inside of the windows without streaking?
I just bought some Stoner's as well and used it last weekend. The only spot I'm still having streaking problems is on the rear window.
Is it safe to use newspaper to clean tinted windows? I want to try that and see if it works better, I just don't want it to scratch.

Sprayway Glass Cleaner - I was told about this my the guy who put on my tint. It's ammonia free and won't hurt your tint. Just use it with a soft, high grade paper towel. I use it inside & out and it does a great job. Just use plenty of clean paper towels. You can buy it at Ace, etc. and it's cheap.

It works great with newspaper. However, if you have the parchment or quartz interior then you have to be careful because the newspaper ink, when moist, will stain. I learned this the hard way and now use Stoners and microfiber towels on the inside and newspaper on the outside.
BTW, Target has the lowest price in my neighborhood.

Guys, people used newspapers to clean windows years ago because "paper" towels weren't available yet. They also use Bon Ami and other old wive's tales. Think about it. Why would you ever use a solvent and cheap fiborous paper impregnated with ink? Where do you think the ink is going to go?
There are many different brands of cleaners on the market. But if you have tinted windows DON"T use an ammonia based product and don't use cheap paper towels. They can scratch the tint. If you want to use a type of non-paper towel, fine. I just like to go the simple route that always seems to work. In the end it's all about the view, right?

Megs NXT Glass Cleaner is also good, especially in direct sunlight.
When you are cleaning tint, i've foudn that just a microfiber towel that's a little moist and then another towel to dry will get most of the crud off.
If you are having problems with verticle lines that are streaking the tint make sure to clean between the window and the two seals on the inside and outside. Take a credit card and wrap it in a moist paper towel and clean especially the drivers side. I was amazed at how much dirt i found inside of there. Some particles were larger than sand.

Seriously... what are the BEST product/tools to clean the Car windows???
Since I read this topic early in the afternoon, I dropped by Wal-Mart when I picked up my gf tonight after work. There's sooooooo MANY different kinds of spray/wipes that claims to clean the window SHINNY. I use Armor Window wipes before, it did a good job but it doesn't last too long. Especially when it's rainning or getting cold, it fog up a lot w/ streak (the way I clean the window). Should I start using Microfibre + Windex???

my opinion on the "best" glass products:
for cleaning, I like to use either Stoners Invisible Glass or Meguiars NXT Glass Cleaner (OTC or online) using a tight weave or "suede-like" microfiber cloth.
for glass polishing, I like Autoglym Glass Polish. (online only) using either a foam or microfiber hand applicator OR the PC for bad etching/water spots. Many people also use AIO to polish glass as well.
