What color do you all think is the best for your tsx to seem clean? I've heard white is the best for this (I don't like white though). Does black really get the "dirtyest" quickest?
What are your thoughts about colors concerning keeping the car clean?

 

White is not best. Silver is the best color to make the car look clean. It also hides dings and scratches.

White is good, but I think its TOO light in color to mask dirt which is usually a light brown or grey color. This is why silver is better.

And yes black looks dirty almost right after washing And if it rains, forget about it. WHat ofsets this is that when its clean it looks AMZING IMO.

 

I think CG stays looking clean pretty well. But I wash mine once a week, so....

 

Silver is by far a very easy color to keep looking clean. My last car was black, and I don't plan on buying another black car for a long time. Or at least until i can hire someone to clean it all the time for me...

 

Is the meteor silver darker than the satin silver? It's hard to tell from the website.

Its the most popular color so I would guess most people like it.

I've had mine since May and I have no scratches, so I couldnt tell ya.

How much of a difference is there between satin and meteor silver? I really can't see hardly any difference between the two on the acura.com website.

 

I agree with the Satin Silver votes. My car hasn't been washed in weeks because of the rain we've had and it doesn't look too bad even though it's filthy dirty.

 

Meteor silver is a pale blue color. I've never been a fan of that one.

 

Silver is definitely the easiest to maintain.

really light scratches are hard to tell. However when my car got keyed on the driverside door, yes I could see the basecoat. And it is noticeable.

 

I would have to say white... although silver may be very close. I've owned four white cars, and my family when I was a kid had white cars.

In this case I'd probably go silver, though,due to interior personal perference. Of course, my wife pciked the TSX, and went CG : ) which does better than I thought!

If you want it different go for Black. i know people always complaine about keeping it clean .. but it always looks best whether its clean or not ..

I was my car just twice a month .. still it looks good.

here's my impression

White:
hides all swirls and microscratches
hides water spots
shows all little pieces of dirt
moderately shows lots of dirt

Dark:
shows all swirls
water spots are really bad
doesn't show little bits of dirt
moderately shows lots of dirt

I think SSM doesn't little bits of dirt and isn't as susceptible to swirls as dark cars. But I've also never seen a shiny waxed up SSM on here, they always look a little bit dull to me. dull, but clean.

 

CG.

 

Silver is by far the easiest. Although I haven't seen CG, we do have TLs with Anthracite in Canada, and I think dust shows up more easily on Anthracite than on Satin Silver. I speak from experience as the family has had Acuras in White Diamond Pearl (similar to PWP), SSM and NBP.

MSM stays clean for long periods of time. My car is garaged, so i wash it about every 3 weeks and even then it still looks clean.

 

Having owned a white car, a black car, and currently owning a silver car and a CG car, I can give my OP:

Black - worst to try to keep clean looking...pain in the butt...shows dirt easily and also scratches, etc. I really had to wash my black car almost weekly to keep it looking good.

White - pretty easy going. Dusty, "everyday" dirt doesnt really show - it just kind of dulls the white color a bit. Darker dirt and mud definately show up. Also, oil and tar show up easily along the bottom, esp. behind the wheels.

Silver - the best. Dark enough so that neither light nor dark dirt shows as much, and also scratches and rock hits are not as easy to see. My CR-V is silver, and I think Honda makes great shades of silver (I look at other car makers silver and it just isnt as nice - not as "sparkley" or "deep")

CG - not quite as good as silver, but not bad.

although i have a black TSX now.. after 2 silver cars i got tired of that color.. BUT when black looks clean.. BLACK INDEED IS BEAUTIFUL!

 

I too have owned a black car, two white cars, and have a Satin Silver '05 TSX on order.

Black = You can write you name on the dust the next day after a car wash. I will never own black again.

White = Easy to keep clean looking, but bug guts, tar, and mud show up really bad.

Silver = I'll wait and see, but it sounds like I made the right choice since I'm not a car wash fanatic.

 

Before we got the silver Civic my wife owned a beige Hyundai and that color seemed to never get really dirty. No beige color available on the TSX stateside but I did see a beige JDM Accord when we were there earlier this year.

 

I've owned a black car, a white car, brownish charcoal car, and now I have SSM.

SSM is hands down the best color available for TSX if you want to keep it clean without washing it every second day.

I did consider going the PWP route; I thought the color was really a lot less dull to look at, but then, after a second time when I rolled in at the dealership to show on of my friends what car I was going to have, it had just rained, and thhe crass had collected in streams and showed pretty badly on the car, and all of a sudden it looked really old, so I decided to go the SSM route from then on.

 

I got one of those California Dusters for my NHB and it gets the dust off the car nicely.

 

Those things scratch your car over time. Use a quick detailing spray instead and a MF towel.

 

I have a MSM. The exterior and interior both are very easy to take care of. The MSM color is light enough to hide scratches and swirls, but dark enough to hide dust and other dirt. The quartz interior also does a great job of hiding while not getting too hot in the sun.

I understand that some here don't like MSM and respect that view (to each his/her own!) but I absolutely love the color on my car.

In fact, one of my main beefs with the TL (which I will probably own one day) is the color selection. I find all the TL colors kind of dull, and wish that the TL line had the MSM and Artic Blue kinds of color (the TSX blue is a lot lighter than the TL blue, which make sense if you live in Southern California).

 

Looks can be deceiving but what's inside is most important.

 

heck no white isn't the best to always look clean. it's a pain to keep clean.
