All 4 "automatic" power windows

I was just wondering if anyone has converted the power window switches to have 4 automatic windows instead of just the drivers? Is it in the switch or are there more electronics elsewhere? Is there a kit we can buy yet to convert it or can we get 3 more drivers switches and use them? It would be nice.

I could do without it having automatic switches for the rear windows, but damn it's annoying not having it on the front passenger window. I always put my windows down in a pair, so it defeats having the automatic button for the drivers side anyway.

Thats what I am saying! It's cool to hit the drivers button, but you still have to sit there and hold the passenger. Driver and passenger would be just fine for me also.

for some safety hazard.

I believe the driver window has resistance sensor of some sort and would stop auto-up to prevent fingers (and whatnot) getting caught. It's probably right to assume that other windows do not have that senor built-in, so by adding auto-up to them adds a possible safety hazard.

I don't know about the 05, but I know that in my 04 TSX, there's no sensor. I tried it with a roll of papertowel. The driver side window just crushed my roll of papertowel.

the goal is to hit the button once and go on with life as the windows lower by themselves. With the fob the windows roll down till you let go of the button then they stop....the same way all the other windows do, cept the drivers

maybe you were holding the window switch up? the sensor is only for the auto up where you click it once and it goes up by itself. if not then get it checked out because my 04' sensor works.

Hmm...will try that out again to make sure the sensor isn't broken.

It only goes back down before it reaches 1/3 of the height. remember. This is a "near" luxury car. I am sure the not "near" luxury car (like the C240) will have 4 full auto windows.

Yeah, the manual says something like the sensor stops sensing when the window is almost all the way up - to which I say :wft: ?!?

I never experiment with it though.

The *cough cough* BMW I had before had auto-up/down on all 4 windows PLUS sun roof. The windows sensors are actually on the window frames (not sure about the coupe as I think there's no frame?) and they look like the rubber seals that are normally there anway, and they keep sensing all the way...

maybe BMW owners crushed their fingers in windows more often I would like all 4 auto windows, but its a tradeoff for the price and value of the car.

I have all four window auto up and down functions on my accord. I shaved the door handles on all four doors and when I took it in to have poppers installed I also requested remote roll down/ up function. I'm guessing whatever module that controls that particular function also allows me to have auto down/ up from the main switch on the drivers door.

No no, it's because BMW owners/drivers (being the jerks that they are - see a certain other thread for details ) like to crush fingers of their passengers, thus they need all 4 auto windows.

I wouldn't mind 4 auto windows on my TSX either, as well as auto sun roof, but that's such minor minor detail.

Very minor detail...but if I have the option to modify it I will consider at least adding the auto feature to my passenger side.

hey, they gotta save some features for 06 or 07. maybe things like those ensure it stays in the c&d's 10 best for the next couple of years?

That's is TRUE! ahahahahah!!!!

Just like the cheapo 328i I test drove. When you shift to reverse, the right side mirror will flip down so you can see the curb. After couple times of trying this cool feature, this brand new mirror in this brand new bimmer just refuse to move back to where it was at all! Hahahah!!!

Only if the switch unit contained the circuitry necessary to sense the prolonged hold-up/down to activate auto mode.
I imagine it's not, and this is elsewhere and would need to be replicated to provide the functionality you desire.
KP Technologies does an one-touch sunroof module, and something to do with the windows - front passenger only, IIRC.

I'd be surprised if one touch windows and sunroof are not the 08's; They've added just about every other luxury feature possible.

Directed Electronics

Just FYI, Directed Electronics makes a module for automating your windows. It is the 530T, it will allow one touch up & down for two windows. So if you wanted to control all four you would need two. As for the sunroof you would want the 529T, which will control the sunroof as a one touch open and close. You can find the modules directly on DEI site or also on eBay. The 530T is around $45 on eBay. I also have seen them at Fry's for $79.
