ac problems 08 tsx

Ok guys I'm going nuts please help. I was driving on the highway and my ac started blowing hot air. Waited till I got home to see that my compressor stopped spinning. I tried all the relays and fuses to no avail. Checked ac freon and it has enough pressure. Car is sitting at the mechanic he's about as stumped as I am please help. The conpressor never had any noise or signs of a failing compressor I know there's no leak because it still hold pressure in the system. What can it be?

Suggest checking to see if compressor clutch coil is being energized w/ 12V when compressor should engage (AC on). Single blu/red wire connection at compressor.

If 12V is present, then either clutch coil has failed open (check resistance), or clutch gap is too large (clutch coil field not strong enough to close w/ excessive gap.

If 12V is missing then; faulty AC compressor relay, AC pressure switch, thermal fuse open.

This later case seems more likely since cooling fans are energized at same time as compressor and aren't running. Check relay by substitution or replacement and thermal fuse and pressure switch for continuity.

good luck

My 03 Accord was having the same issue as yours. I had 12v at the male plug but my resistance on the coil was way over the limit. The female plug has 2 ports on my model year. Test the resistance on the small port and then the ground wire. Replace my coil and all is good and cold again. Good luck. I purchased 2" snap ring pliers from Sears/Craftsman has harbor freight's and Autozone tips were too short.
