5AT really a 6AT ?
So I just signed up on Acura's Owners Link and was reviewing the TSX information that is provided therein. Here is a description of the transmissions as shown by Owners Link:
Transmission
TSX Automatic: 5-Speed Automatic with Sequential SportShift,(TM) Grade Logic Control and Lockup Torque Converter
TSX Manual: Optional: Close Ratio 6-Speed Manual with Magnesium Transmission Case
TSX Automatic Gear Ratios
1st: 2.652
2nd: 1.517
3rd: 1.082
4th: 0.773
5th: 0.566
6th: 0.659
Reverse: 2.000
Final Drive: 4.440
WHAAAAAT?!
First of all, how would one shift the AT into 6th gear? And second, with a ratio that is lower than 5th gear, why would one want to?

Yup. "Overdrive" means a gear ratio that's higher (numericall lower) than 1.0. That is, the engine input shaft turns slower than the transmission output shaft.
