And the 2007 TSX comes with....

Tire pressure monitoring system, according to September's Motor Trend. They didn't mention any other changes.

Anybody know whether honda's TPMS (it'll surely be the same one used on current RL/MDX) tells you the exact pressure, or just reports whether it has dropped 25% below nominal (what the law requires)?

Should be the same system being used now on the RL, MDX, TL, and the soon to be released RDX.

What they failed to mention is the TPMS is connected to the blow off valve on the new turbo, so it will automatically inflate the tires as needed.

No, but if you get the Navi, this guy, pops up on your screen every 5 minutes reminding you just how ugly those wheels are.

I don't think the '06 rims are "ugly". I just don't think they are as macho looking as they were in '04 - '05. Am I interested in aftermarkets (or Silver Stars) for my '06? Yes. But I can wait.

My biggest hope, an OEM lip spoiler. When getting my car serviced a couple weeks ago, the parts guy mentioned that it was a strong possibility there would be one. He mentioned that it was discussed for '06 but never went into production.
Maybe waiting to see the popularity of it on the TL?

Can't wait to see it though.

Did this Motor Trend have pics?

Its a carry over from 06. Its looks identical. But I'm sure the pic MY did have was of an 06.

I see you're pretty active in the RDX section. Are you planning on getting one?

I don't think he is. He just likes defending anything with an 'A' on the hood.

RDX = BIG MEH....

I really hope that the 07 models come with the side mirrors that come down when the car is put into R. I feel like this wouldnt be that hard since other Acura's already have them.

No, I couldn't possibly afford it right now. I am looking at it primarily for the drivetrain because I fully anticipate that drivetrain showing up in the next TSX, which is where my interest lies.

let's hope the RSX's overinflated price doesn't show up in the next TSX as well then

There are systems out there that only sound an alert when a significant difference in tire pressures (comparing two tires on the same axle) is detected. What that means is that you can have a pair of tires that are completed deflated and not get an alert!

Honda's TPMS system, assuming it's the same across the board (my experiences are w/ my 05 Odyssey Touring and an 06 TL loaner), monitors each wheel independently and reports the actual value of each wheel on the dash. Having lived with TPMS with the Ody, I really miss it on my 06 TSX.

I think Acura specificially omitted TPMS in the '06 TSX so they'd have it to add as a new feature on the '07 model -- kind of like the lack of heated mirrors on the '04s.

Confirmation 2007 TSX has standard TPMS

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ncap/cars/4001.html

Acura must have submitted the 2007 model for NHTSA crash-test ratings. It shows TPMS as standard.

I can't get the link to work, but before the 2006 came out people incorrectly thought the NHTSA website had pics of the new 2006 model -- but in reality they were old pics of an '04/'05 model despite the fact the website had them labeled as a 2006 model.

RDX, right. a little OT, but if moving "up-market" means building basically the same cars but making them cost a lot more this is probably my last Acura

And Likely my last Acura as well if their headed where I think they are headed.

We're expecting the RDX to cost 50K+ CAD out the door up here.

You'd be surprised at marketing techniques companies use to portray their products as "upscale" -- clothes, cars, etc you name it. In most average people's mind, more $$$ means better. This may or may not be the case. Lot's of time's that $98544523463 purse is made by the same sweatshop kid as a $10 one.

Sorry to go OT.

I thought you were going to surprise us Dom and the 07 TSX will come with a V6 or a date with Jessica Biel

Yeah a bit off topic with Jessica, but some guy paid $30K to go on a date with her and proceeds go to a girl who lost her leg in an accident.
