Hey, thanks for posting that! I'm in the process of getting financing through my local dealer and they just offered me 3.99%!! I wonder if they'll ever bring this HFS deal up to me when I go in to sign the papers.....

Since they are offering 2.99% APR, do you think they will refinance my contract since it is only 2 weeks old? If I can get 1-2 points lower I will be happier than a dung beetle in a pile of elephant shit!

When I bought mine on Wednesday, the sales guy notified me that this was in effect and that he would try to get me the 2.9%. After meeting the finance director, he told me Honda Financial was going to give me a 5.9%. This after the sales guy told me I would be getting a 4.00% finance rate a day earlier. After all was said and done, in order to make me a happy customer, he made me promise to give his dealership all 5's on the Acura survey and he would give me the 3.9%.

He was also pushing the extended warranty pretty hard. I kept telling him "NO" in the nicest way possible. At one point, he told me he would get me 3.9% if I bought the extended warranty or else he said the best he could do was 4.9%. I still said "NO". Something to do with "internal scoring" bullshit.

This is why I always go and get financing at my credit union before I even start shopping, mine usually has excellent rates...I was able to beat Honda buy a few % points. But that's the nice thing about small work related credit unions.

With the warranty Acura gives why would you extend it at time of purchase? If the car gives you trouble just extend it later on...I've always had Honda send me a warranty extention plan near the end of my term. If I had a lemon Honda I may purchase else I think 4yrs is really good for a new Honda-Acura.

My salesman tried to get me to extend my 7yr-100k Certified used warranty? My car is 6mo. old with 6400mi on the clock, why the F*** would I extend this kind of warranty, it's going to outlast my loan? Plus he admitted Honda will send me extention offers every year.

I also went with our credit union. it is 4.9 but for 72 months. We had to keep our payment under 400 due to a house we are currently building. One the house is finished and I sell the one we are living in I will pay the car off, should be before May of 2005.

I got 3.49% for 60 mos from a credit union at the begininng of November, so shop around. Honda was not offering cheapo financing at that time, at least that I was aware of. Lots of times AHMC low rates are often for very short terms.

I got 2.9% though Honda Financing few days ago. Dealer quote me 3.75% just day before I bought our car. So 2.9% is one heck of deal at this time of year.
I highly recommend buyer to get their credit score before finacing. If you have 700+, you can qualify for 2.9% through Honda (according to financing manager at dealership).
