1 Touch Sunroof MOD!!! It will work!!

I know this is a topic that everyone is interested in....how to make the sunroof one touch open and close.....the answer ->DEI 530T. This is a window module for after market alarm systems that allow you to conrtol your windows or sunroof from the remote and adds one-touch up and down to which ever you add it too. I had this module on a previous vehicle with a clifford g4 alarm. I then took out the alarm and left the module in since it splices directly into the motors for the windows or sunroof. The windows still function with the 1touch up and down and safety features such as stop on touch or resistance. I called my audio shop that I purchase everything from. They do a lot of high end cars around here and have done all the installs on my mercedes and friends of mine. I asked if it would work for the sunroof and my tsx. I brought it in and they looked at the motor wires and tested currents and the verdict was it would work. They didnt have a 530t in stock or in the wherehouse so they are ordering one for me from DEI. Once i get it completed I will post pics and how tos......anyone else thought about this?

I can understand how many people would be interested in this, but I don't mind holding the button for a few seconds. It's certianly not worth paying money for the unit and install to me to save a couple seconds holding down the button.

But like I said, I know a lot of people around here have complained about the moonroof not having a one-touch feature, so I'm sure there are plenty that are interested.

whoseanthony, does installing the module also allow the key fob to open the sunroof along with the windows? I might be willing to pay to have this down if it adds his extra feature as well. Ooh, and what about closing from the key fob? Would adding this module allow me to close the windows and sunroof from the key fob?

Probably not. But I'm sure you can have it wired to close the sunroom when you arm the car.

1-You cant have it integrate with the factory alarm cause it is made for DEI Products, ex...clifford and viper.

2-the unit is $50 and about $50-$100 to install depending on where you go and your connections.

so....it doesent work with the key fob, unless you upgrade your entire alarm to Viper/Clifford......
Cool, got it.

So what this will do is exactly what the title says, ONE TOUCH OPEN SUN ROOF.
meaning: i hit the open sunroof button (just like the auto window down feature for the drivers window) and it opens, instead of holding the button untill the sun roof is open.

am i correct?

I would use a 529T instead of the 530T- the 530T is intended for 2 windows up and down, while the 529T is for 1 window up and down or sunroof open and close. You should be able to pick one up for not much more than 40$.... it can be self installed, but you have to remove the headliner to access the green/yellow - green/black wires at the sunroof moter @ rear of roof.....that and battery and ground are really all it takes....also it will work on any aftermarket alarm that has extra outputs- it does not have to be a viper or clifford, but of course they are the best.....

can you still open close the moonroof according to your liking or does the switch change the entire operation to one-touch? Just wondering, I have it either open or closed entire way most the time anyway. Thanks -H

yeah i dont see what the big deal is about having to just hold the button down either, but thats just me... isnt there a way to just do it via the electronics in the TL sunroof button? i was under the impression that in cars with factory features, things arent wired as they are with aftermarket systems which have seperate components for everything. isnt the one touch feature something to do with the button assembly?

The one-touch is overrated. TSX owners can open the roof as much or as little as they choose. Don't get that with 1-touch.

(Damn, wish I had 1-touch... )

Some cars (Audi, Volks) have a dial that you can position to any level of open or closed for the sunroof. I agree that holding the button for a couple of seconds in not a big deal, bu can see why people would want it.

Sure you would. It would work just like the driver side window. Push it a little for normal operation, a little harder till you hit the "bump" for auto operation.

This would be cool. Yea I know its seconds, but its still annoying.

Not that it helps with the sunroof, but in terms of auto up/down windows, couldn't you just replace the "regular" window switches in the driver's door with auto up/down ones (like the one on the driver's wdo in an '04)? Don't know what they cost (probably a lot) but that's what I'm thinking if I can ever get at a TSX or other Honda with the same switch in a salvage yard.

Has anyone moved the sunroof switch to somewhere else on the console? The current location makes it seem like an afterthought ergonomically and UI-wise.

It probably wouldn't have that "bump". I'm assuming this mod doesn't involve changing the switch on the dash, in which case there would be no bump. You probably have to hit the open switch once and then hit it again to stop it from opening if you don't want the roof open all the way.

If this works I'll do it

Uhhh... as the guy who wrote the original manual for the 530T AND the 529T "dual-mono" version, I gotta disagree with you.

(I will agree with Zzed that the 529T would be better... but...)

Take a look at the wiring diagram. The relays running the motor wires are up in the motor assembly in the overhead. The wires from the switch are low-current (-) wires triggering these relays (no window modules work on those wires), and the wire run from the relays to the roof motor (the wires you NEED to connect a 529 or 530 to) is like a couple of inches - and not really exposed. You would FIRST have to drop the entire headliner, and THEN I think the wires are behind metal (haven't been motivated enough to find out...)

The only way to use the wires from the switch is to have no safety override at all ... and that's not something I recommend.

The window switches actually work on a databus... a switch without the databus will no workee. Besides, the above post negates the ability of that circuit within the switch to work either. : (.
