08 TSX - 6 speed
My clutch failed after 56K miles. I never held myself on hills, mashed it, or did anything out of the ordinary with the clutch. After it failed, I found many posts of people with stories of it failing after ~60K. My wife's Civic clutch failed after 67K, so it might be a Honda thing. I've since done a lot of modifications to the car so I now have a racing clutch (which was cheaper then replacing it with a stock clutch), and it is spot-on.
If you want the 08' to be really fast, you are going to need to modify it significantly though...

depends on how the car was maintained and driven. How many miles. Have it checked out by a trusted mechanic. I own a 06 tsx. It still is in excellent shape, with the original clutch. I have owned mostly all manual transmission vehicles and never had to replace the clutch. Most of them went to almost 200,000 miles.

I agree with nj2pa2nc...these transmissions are usually tremendous. Like hers, the one in my 06 has been bulletproof. We have driven Hondas with sticks for over 20 years, owning most of them for close to 200,000 miles, and none have needed their clutch replaced. (The last car was rear-ended, forcing its retirement.)
More importantly, the manual transmission version of this car is what won three Car & Driver "10 Best cars in the world" awards. They said the TSX 6MT is one of the greatest manuals ever made, seemingly pulled straight from the Honda S2000, (which it appears you already own.) With a special magnesium transfer case, it makes the manual cars lighter than the automatics, and also quicker.
The auto versions of the TSX are great, too, but I think you would love the 6MT.

PS...As ORANGEBSRT said, if it matters to you, Hondata is not available for the 08, but it is for 04, 05 & 06. --06+ brought many upgrades listed in earlier threads.

Rev hang? I did not want to hear about that.
This is the reason why I traded in my 06 Civic 5 speed a few years ago as I did not like the way the Honda DBW worked and how worse it was compared to my S2000's cable DBW. I'll have to drive a TSX very soon to see if I feel the same. Is rev hang a problem with 08+ TSXs also?

I personally don't notice rev hang...not an issue, with mine at least.
I've driven nothing but stick since I was 17, have owned 5 manual sports cars. I have also driven friend's Porsches, BMWs, Infiniti G37's, (and even Nissan Z's with rev match technology)...and the TSX manual is the best of all of them. Smoother and more precise with its engagement.

Had to replace my clutch on '07 TSX this week. I am pretty sure this is due to previous owners. I am the 4th owner of my TSX, even though it only has 46K miles on it. Next time I buy used, it will be a clean single-owner car!
Funny that this turned into a clutch post when it started out as a question about the 08'. Since I was the first to post about my clutch problem on the post, I feel I should redeem the post...
I found the 08' clutch to not be adequate for the car, just my experience. That being said, I drive the car harder than most other TSX drivers that I come across on the highway. However, when my clutch failed, the dealer themselves said that most TSX's that have clutch replacements happen between 50 to 80K miles. The tuner shop that I had the clutch replaced at also told me that Honda/Acura clutches were not meant for much more than normal "easy going" driving. Place whatever value that you want on the info; this has been my experience and I'm providing it to the community, take it however you want.
Onto the 08' TSX. Yes, it's a good car. I've had minimal problems with it. If you want to make it fast, it is not as straight forward as the 04' - 06' models. However, it is completely possible to manage the engine and install forced induction, super-charge, turbo etc.. Yes, there is no Hondata reflash due to drive-by-wire, but K-pro only cost me about $700 more than the typical reflash, and I can do much more with the engine than the simple reflash can do. As for the "rev hang" that people have mentioned, I haven't seen it... I also owned an 04' TSX that does not have the DBW throttle, and the two cars drive pretty much the same at stock.
