Greetings I have an issue with my 97 3.2 I think it is related to the transmission. I start it from stone cold in the morning and when leaving my drive way the cars rpms are up and i am pressing the gas but the car hardly moves it last just for maybe 3 or 4 car lengths and then everything is fine. It slowly gains power and off she goes any suggestions?????

 

Have you drained and re-filled your tranny fluid? Does it look murky?

 

I have checked it since you mentioned it; not murky but I have never changed it since i have owned the car so about 7 years.

 

Holy christ...change that shit, dude... Seven years??? Over time the heat breaks down which leads to slipping, much like what is happening with yours. Hopefully changing the fluid will help the issue. It is amazing how much some crappy ATF will screw with things.

 

^ What he said, plus the internal screen. These transmissions are tough, but they need maintenance as well.

where is the internal screen located from the ATF?

 

After about 20 to 30mins of driving, mine wont go anywhere from a dead stop..unless I turn my car off.
