Please Help. Speaker Problem....
Ok here's the problem guys. I have a Acura 3.2 TL. This one right here.

The speaker on the passenger side im preety sure is busted. When i turn the volume up on my car. I dont hear bass from it. It's a loud a$$ annoying thumping noise. The one on the drivers side is perfectley fine. It's just the one inside the passenger door side. O and just so you guys kno its a regular Pioneer brand speaker. (i dnt know if those are considered cheap brands of speakers).
So this is what i need from any one. a way to fix this. any stores you guys know that will sell me 1 ( or even 2 if need to replace the other ) speaker(s) i can put in for my car specifically.
thx yall 1

You can check here http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/
Pioneer speakers are good, but if you buy the cheapest ones don't expect anything crazy. If you really want high end brands, then you need to look at companies like Focal which cost way more than "normal" speakers. Check out the Audio section on Acurazine; there's tons of info there.

You can buy speakers from anywhere.
I blew 3 out of my 4 speakers and ended up getting a whole set of Jensen brand speakers for $100. It was fairly simple to put in and it sounds better than it ever did.

Unless it's Jacob Jensen stuff from the old days, it's pretty junky... I got a Jensen amp in an emergency since my Alpine crapped out (got ripped, too), and it's ok for lower volume levels but really distorts at higher levels. You got a good deal, I guess, for all 4. I had to pay $140 for the 300w amp, and three days later, I saw the 450w one for $90.
~Cheers~

Pioneer furnished the original speakers in that car. I think that the head unit is made by Pioneer also. Along about that time, Honda headunits were built either by Pioneer or Alpine. It will be labeled on the back of the head unit.
Anyway - one of the most helpful and reputable places for car stereo is www.crutchfield.com . Thier prices may not always be the lowest, but you can always trust their advice and they stand behind what they sell. I think they are in Virginia. If you live in another state, you won't be charged sales tax. (At least for me in TN, they don't)
PS - you will probably have to buy in pairs - you will want to replace both speakers. It probably will not sound good to just replace one and have the other one a different brand.

I would replace the stock speakers with aftermarket speakers since they sound much better. Any aftermarket speaker would work fine as long as they are similar size to mount to the existing hole in the door. If i remember correctly, I put 5.25 inch speakers in my front doors and they fit in the existing holder perfectly. The 5.5 inch speakers will also fit with minor modification and will sound much better. Your choice...

Now, when I was 18, it was a different story. The old Tl had a MTX Class D 1500 watt amp with 2 15" ORIONS. There were times when the lows hit so low I thought the trunk was going to pop right off.
Oh, good times.

I replaced my 1998 3.2 TL factory speakers (front & rear) with Polk 650s (front) & 690s (back) several years ago. Very pleased with both sets of speakers; tremendous improvement in sound quality. Minor mod to plastic frame for front speakers; no mod for rear speakers. As others have said here, I bought both sets of speakers from Crutchfield because I knew that if I had any problems with anything, they would help me out. I kept the original head unit; no major problems with it, thank goodness.
