Noise like an antenna going up and down

Someone help, I just bought an 1996 Acura 2.5TL and it sounds like an auto antenna is going up and down, but there is no antenna

I went through 3 ABS modulators on my old '96 Accord from a similar sounding issue. They NEVER figured out what it was. It was replaced twice under warranty and once out of my own pocket for about $1100. Good luck, friend.

Turns out the ABS modulator was a sub-system of the brake system, so I couldn't "take it off" and do without it

It might be the fuel pump. I have gone through 3 of them so far and it makes almost that exact same noise. It only really makes it when idling, not when driving.

How much does it cost to replace the fuel pump?

Hmm, well you should probably ask someone else. I am having some issues right now with my replacement, but the pump should cost about $300, plus a new filter, and the install should be about an hour to an hour-and-a-half. Texashonda might be able to give you a better estimate. I would get it checked out first before self-diagnosing though because it will be about $500.

Also, did it make that noise before? Like when you test drove it? The reason I ask is because you probably have an aftermarket fuel pump in the car. The pump will work fine, the noise is just very annoying.
