Gauge Cluster
Gauge Cluster
I seem to have a problem. The lights in the gauge cluster does not turn on when I drive at night. The lights on the climate control, dome and all other interior lights work except theones in the cluster as well as the area where the the mirror controls are.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Any help would be much appreciated.

Gauge lights run off #1 fuse in under dash fuse/relay box. The #1 fuse is lower row, 2nd fuse from left. The first fuse is a spare. It's unlikely that all 7 of them are burnt out.
Another possibility is the dash light brightness control. Have you checked to make sure it's not on minimum? The brightness controller can go bad and cause your problem also. You check the controller by checking for 12V on the red wire to the controller when dash lights should be on. If no voltage, problem is most likely the fuse or all the lights are burnt out. If voltage is present, the controller is bad and must be replaced.
good luck

Well I checked the brightness controller and there's nothing at all. I will check the fuse box, if there's still a problem, I will then take out the brightness control switch tomorrow. It's too dark for me to do that right now.
I really appreciate the feedback. You're definitely one of the more knowledgeable kats on this board.
thanks
If you checked correctly the brightness controller is ruled out. As Unsanepyro points out, you can bypass the controller w/ a shorting jumper across the correct pins. You'll need a wiring diagram to be sure for your car.
Hopefully, it's the underdash fuse.

Update.
It turns out I had 2 bad switches. I took the switches from my other Acura and installed them in the TL and everything works fine.
Thanks to you TexasHonda, and UnsanePyro. you guys are knowledgeable kats.
Peace.
