Hello all, I have a 97 TL and the back driver side window wouldnt go up or down. I heard the motor working, so I took the panel off and tried to remove the motor. Now its just hanging in there and I cant get it remounted as the coil keeps moving around.

If anyone has directions/diagrams or any advice please let me know I have been working on this problem for almost 4 hours now. Thanks for any advise.

 

If you tried to remove only the motor from the regulator drive, you are screwed. The motor electric brushes have jumped out of position and are near impossible to replace. Motor is not intended as a replacement item.

You'll need to remove the window and entire door regulator, and replace w/ a new or used unit. This is what you needed to do in the first place. It was likely your motor was fine, and the regulator mechanism is damaged. I've had the wire "turning sheave" (plastic) fail and cause the rear door to stay down on Accords, and I image the TL is very similar. You can check for used regulators near you w/ car-part.com.

Not to pick on you but for others education, this is a classic example of attempting a job w/o adequate information. An Acura shop manual would have saved your bacon on this job.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to fix the problem as 2 of the screws were missing ( I bought the car used like that) from the motor mount. $2.00 and about 6 hours later.

BTW where can I pick up ashop manual?

 

Check ebay for a used manual (unlikely but worth a shot), try a google search for best price, or helminc.com.
