Replacing the blower fan is a major effort requiring discharging the AC system and removal of evaporator. Not to be undertaken w/o assuring that blower is indeed failed.

Check fuses, switches, relay to be sure there is not an electrical fault.

Try thumping the blower housing firmly and see if blower starts. Bad news, if blower does start, this means the brushes are nearly worn out and it will stop again soon. Blower replacement is indicated.

PM me w/ an email address and I'll furnish the blower replacement procedures.

good luck

This is such a big job that since my blower motor seized last week, I'm replacing my car after 10+ years rather than fix it. It's sad, but without a fan I can't defrost the window. It's time to replace the car. I pick up a Honda Accord tomorrow and will sell the Acura 3.2 TL with 235K miles but no heat/defroster sometime near Christmas. Anyone in Texas need a TL?

TMNHS81 needs one, but he's in CA. Throw up some pics, maybe he's willing to come pick it up.

~Cheers~

Why can't it be in California. /

I am looking for one but not looking forward to a long ass drive back home or paying a lot for transportation...

Congrats on the new car but you sure are going to miss the TL.

Put in on ebay w/ no reserve. It will sell if price is low enough. You can always sell to scrap yard for a few bucks.

good luck

I wrote a DIY on this.

Next time, try a search. ("blower motor" would have done the trick)
