XSpower

Decided to pull the trigger on these headers.

Quick shipping (about a week), well packed, great communication, has the 6 speed notch. And best of all a decent price @ $260 shipped.

Hope to get the put on in the next week or so.

^ Those look very similar to OBX headers.

What size are the flange openings and how is the inner weld quality up close?

They've always been decent quality. You need to replace the flex pipe or it'll be silly loud and likely leak.

I'd picked up a set for $199 new when they were normally that price and ended up selling them for like $500 when demand increased and they'd kinda disappeared.

Not actually sure about the size of hand.

Here's a link https://xs-power.com/acura-honda-nonturbo-headers-2.htm

I can measure once I get home if you like.

Got recommendation for a better, quieter flex pipe? It looks good to me but I really have no clue comparing a good vs bad flexpipe.

Can you measure the flange thickness were it mounts to the head? Usually warp being too thin.

I'll take a look tomorrow. Pretty standard thickness and I've noticed no increase in loudness.

All and all it's a good fitting product

I've not really felt any noticable gains other than running smoother. I did clean up the intake and used all new gaskets

Not bad looking. Actually considering these for a J35 swap project.

Would you say the clearance between the radiator fans and the front head is any tighter than stock or the same?

There is a little more space and a hefty weight difference

So, just received my order of XS Power's Acura / Accord V6 Header. Unfortunately, the piping size is not as advertised.

The website claims 2.5" collector. However, in actuality it measures at 2"/50mm. For comparison, a used 2.36"/60mm flange is clearly larger:

XS power 2.0" / 50mm I.D

Used 2.36" / 60mm I.D. flange

Being that stock the j pipe also has a 50mm collector, this likely explains why no noticebable gains were felt by the O.P. That said I have contacted XS, who btw has these mfg and shipped direct from China.

Bummer they don't match up to advertised specs 😩 . It will be interesting to hear what their response will be. The fellow I delt with was super nice so I hope your experience will be too.

Gotta say after putting a few more miles with them I do feel extra power up high. It's just a seat of my pants thing, but I don't recall being able to light em up going into 3rd as I can do now. Dry pavement of course.

Good luck and please share your response. Hoping for a positive outcome.

Jack

OMG, that is such a dishonest noticeable difference!
Is there no shame on the mainland or at XS Power's negligent QC?
Wondering what their attempted 'coherent' explanation will be, lol.
Good on you for holding their feet to the fire.

Alright, after contacting XS, about the size difference their response is:
"We do not false advertise. You are thinking 2.5" COLLECTOR means OUTLET. IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT. The outlet is NOT THE COLLECTOR. These headers are the best AV6 headers out there."

I will omit my smart a** response to that last part.

Continuing on... Unfortunately my project is limited on space, so I need a header set with factory style fitment. So, long story short I disputed the transaction in paypal. In which I requested a partial refund to facilitate replacement of the 2" outlet with a properly sized flange. The seller replied and wants me to ship the headers back (at my own expense) for which I would only receive a refund amount of $80. Obviously, this is an absurd offer which was immediately rejected.

That said, my only option seems to be cutting off the restrictive 2" outlet and replacing with a properly sized flange at my own expense. Lesson learned don't be misled into buying cheap headers without knowing all the specs upfront.
