Climate Control doesnt light shows no life

Son came home A/C climate control dead no lights on it. Does seem that the exterior fan goes on but climate control shows no life.

Thought it might be a fuse under dash checked the 3rd one that says a/c blower it seems fine. Any other fuses that should be checked.

Or any ideas.

Thanks Madness

probably my description should have been clearer.

The climate control unit is dead. Its not just the light is out.

Do you have a 2.5TL or 3.2TL? Do you have a wiring diagram for your car?

Have your tried self diagnostic? Turn keyswitch to ON while holding Auto and OFF buttons down on climate control panel. I suspect you have no power to the unit.

For a 2.5TL, fuse no. 7 on 2.5TL powers the climate control unit. It's a 7.5A fuse. Fuses are counted L-R from bottom row to top. There are spare fuses at ends of first two rows that don't count. Fuse 7 is second fuse in upper row. First is a spare.

If fuse is good, I would pull trim panel around the climate control and climate control will come away w/ trim. Disconnect wiring harness behind unit. Clips which retain trim will release when pulled by pry near the connector to avoid breaking the trim panel. Once away, check for power to the climate control. It should be the blk/yel wire. If you have power to connector, you likely have a non-functional climate control. I might try replugging to connector and checking several times. Make sure all connections are secure and tight. Look for wiring damage. A used climate control from a salvage yard is your best bet. Check car-part.com and ebay.

good luck

its a 2.5. The self diagnostic test will it provide codes.? I also suspect no power to the unit. Will check fuse again. And then pop out the climate control unit

i would pop the unit out to see if any wiring is loose, that's always the first thing you should try
