check engine light from low fuel?

Today, my fuel light didn't want to light up so the car died right before i entered the gstation. It was bogging down and felt like it was about to shut off. While this was happening the check engine light was flickering... made it to the pump and filled some premium. Now, the check engine light is still on but the car is driving fine. Should I go to an Advanced auto store and have them reset the computer?

I have a gen2 so just guessing ours are the same:

Remove the neg battery cable- clean the terminals while its off, and replace.
That should reset the system.
