02 sensor??

almost a year ago, i got a code circuit bank 1 sensor P0135, ordered a direct fit replacment and it was fine, just got back from a trip to V.A. from DE and this morning the light came on and the code is P0141, now from what i've heard, the 2.5 only has 1 sensor and if so what does this mean?

I don't know where you heard that from, but the 2.5TL have 2 oxygen sensors. One should be on the exhaust manifold, and the other is further down the converter.

Any suggestions for a replacement other than OE? I really don't want to spend 310 for a new OE sensor....

I used a universal O2 sensor on my 2.5TL. You have to splice 4 wires to complete new sensor to old harness and connector. Works fine.

check ebay for good deals on universal 4-wire O2 sensor. I think I paid $25 for mine.

good luck

I brought 1 off of ebay that I had to splice and put together, but for some reason it did not work I ended up buying a direct fit from OxygenSensors.com

Most, perhaps all, of the vendors on ebay furnish instructions for splicing. The key is to insure the signal and "shield" lines are not reversed. If you do the CEL will be illuminated. I did this on first one I tried w/o instructions, reversed and all was fine. The two heater wires can be reversed w/o consequences. Follow the instructions and you should not have problems.

There is always the possibility of a bad part. It happens.

good luck

Ended up getting a direct plug and play from Advance Auto, also has a limited lifetime warranty. Just as a note, pull the battery and the heat shields out and talk about an easy job. No more CEL now!!!
