LED Conversion

I finally decided yesterday to begin my LED conversion. This conversion I decided will have to come in stages. This is the 1/7 stages that I will be doing. I'll keep you all posted with the stages as I go along but so far this is what I got.

Headlights off.

Headlights on.

Stay tuned for more!

P.S. Sorry for the over-sizing but photobucket was being dumb and didn't want to change my sizes.

I actually had to go to Autozone to get something for my dad and I just happened to look where the LEDs are and decided to try them out. The e.com site that you gave me doesn't work, but thanks for your help anyway. I'll probably PM you in the future.

Should've seen my IPF LEDs. I got pulled over for having "8 headlights" because the cop counted my corners, hehe. I lit up my garage with them pulling in at night. Looking good, though, and I'm glad you've got the project started!

I don't know if you considered blue license plate lights, but if you did you might want to stick with white LED because I got a warning for having blue LPL, even though it may be legal that cop was anal about it.

I'm doing the license plates the same as those and believe it or not even if they look blue the package said "white" on it.

I definitely got pulled over more when I had the IPF LEDs for the number plate lights. Now I just have regular bulbs in there and look like a normal car. Last time I was chased, they were broken so I was lucky that no one could read it. There are warm white LEDs now, but I'm not sure I'd want those just because it kind of defeats the purpose...

Today I went and bought stage 2 of my LED conversion. I went and bought my LEDs and thought everything was fine, oh was I wrong. I got home, installed my LEDs and then I realized after I put everything back on that they LEDs are two complete different colors!! One was white and the other was like a purple-ish color. I went back to see if I could return them and the guy told me that I couldn't so now I have to buy a new set tomorrow and hopefully there will be a match in this package to one of the bulbs that is already installed there. I'll have pics up tomorrow of the 2 different colors and then hopefully of a real set, with 2 bulbs of the same color.

P.S. I'll probably end up putting one of the LEDs in the trunk so I can get the trunk done and have 3/7 stages complete.

Here are the pics from the latest stages of the conversion.

Sorry that this pic is blurry. My camera is messed up, but if you look closely you can see the 2 different colors.

These are the same colors.

Trunk.

Next in line is the switches on the left side of the steering wheel, climate control, and the infamous cluster.

Yeah that would look good, but personally I find satisfaction when I open the door and all the lights match in blue

Big balla, i had blue l.e.d.s in the doors, it looked pretty sweet, but i also had blues in map and dome. It got annoying after a while when trying to read something at night, but dont let that discourage you.
p.s. im liking the progress so far, keep it up!

alright guys so today it was raining and during school today all I did was think about something to do to my car. While I was taking I quiz i realized what I wanted to do and that was start the interior lights. I only have one courtesy light done so this is basically a teaser for now until i do all the others, but hope you like it.

Thanks for the complements!

Timmy I don't think that I going to do the blue in the map or the dome I think I'm going to go and do white for those and make it look a little different, but thanks.

STAY TUNED!

I just realized that I didn't get them at Autozone. I got them at Pep Boys sorry for all of the confusion for the ones if there are any that might want to get these bulbs. They are Pilot brand and they have like an aisle that has all bulbs in it and stuff and they are there somewhere. They same replace 194 and they might be 195, but yeah. Pep Boys. Sorry for the error.

What type of LED's did you use for the license plate lights?
I've been wanting to do the same but just not sure where to start.
Is it as simples as taking out the old lamps and replace with LED's with no other mods or more work is needed?
I know little about LED's that's why.
Thanks in advance for any inputs.
BTW, Nice setup.

the license plate lights use 168 bulbs, you can just buy size 168 LEDs and they will fit right in, no mods needed.

If you are looking to start somewhere, just start somewhere where you have taken the bulb out before. It is as simple as unscrewing taking the stock bulbs out and putting the LEDs back in. I know barely anything before I started this but then I got some help from the guys on here and because of them everything looks as good as it does. If you need anything else just PM me.

Alright so here it is. I put my LEDs in today before I had to go to work (took me like an hour). I go to work and I came home like 20 min ago took pics and now I'm posting them up. I realized though that I'm going to be needing two 74 bulbs to throw light so I will be able to see the needles at night and for some reason one of the LEDs isn't shining right. All of it will get done though as soon as I can get them 74 bulbs. ENJOY!

Yes I already know my camera sucks so don't even say anything about it!

Well today I FINALLY got my dome lights. I went with white in the dome, they have 8-LEDs in them and they are really really bright that I can't even look straight into them. Well I'll post pics of them up later on tonight when it is dark so all of you can see how good it looks.

As promised here are some pics.
Before:

After:

The dome is so bright that it lights up the whole car and I don't even need an LED for the maplight because this light gives off so much light. I'm thinking about replacing the LED in the trunk with the LED that I put in the dome because it is so bright.

I got my 74s in today and I put the ones for the gauges in and the shift plate and I attempted to put the cigarette lighter and the ignition lights in but I couldn't figure out how to get to them. I tried a search already and I couldn't really find anything that I needed to help me get to the lights, but if any of you have any idea on how to do this please let me know.

P.S. Pics will be up as soon as I can get the ignition and the cigarette lighter done.

cigarette lighter is pretty easy, just remove your center console and there should be a bulb that twists off by the cigarette lighter, and there's also one by the cointray
