I got the screech pretty damn bad up front, but they havent slowed yet. Do you guys have these vertical scrape marks on each front window, about 1.5" wide running top to bottom? its like a perfect square running the length of the window. Its the only thing keeping me from doing a tint. I dont want the tint getting all muffed up with these frameless door setups for our windows.

yeah, i do have the scrape marks up my windows. do you know what it's from?? well, i have factory tint on mine and i don't plan on changing it but i wouldn't do it anyway on the account of the scrape marks.

I have the scratches and my windows are tinted. The scratches are on the outside so you dont have to worry about it. Go ahead and get tint if you want. The reason the windows are scratched is because the tracks are metal and the corners are covered with felt. After a few years the felt wears out and the metal sticks out scratching the window. I spoke with the dealer about this and he said you have to replace the whole window track which is $60 per door without labor. I just left them alone. Mine dont go up slow but they screech sometimes. That is the only thing I hate about my TL. I dont think its worth getting fixed unless its covered by warranty.

i hate my windows soooo much. the ones in the front go up hella slow and have scratch marks on them. the ones in the rear roll up and down at a faster pace, but i noticed that when the weather gets cold or a little damp, the window makes this high pitched squeek. i get sooooo embarassed when people have to hear that.

I brought my car to the dealer and they changed all of the windows without cost for those scratches if you're still under the warranty.

Damn, the value spoiler looks cool in the picture

Well, you can add me to that list cause mine does the same thing. The back windows screech real bad when it rains. My passenger front window goes up slower than my driver side. My rears go up super quick and i'm always waiting on the front. P.I.T.A.

Mine are the same way. I had both a 94 and 97 Accord, and they did it also. Honda must assign all their engineers to engine and suspension development.

SCREECHING WINDOWS

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM..
MY SH***T WAS SCREAMING LIKE CRAZY I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, SO I IGNORED IT ONLY TO FIND OUT 3 WEEKS LATER I WAS GETTING A CRACKING NOISE WHEN I PUT THE DRIVER'S WINDOW UP, SO I WENT TO THE DEALER FOR A FEE OF $36.00 THE NOISE WAS NO MORE. I GOT PISSED THOUGH WHEN I FOUND OUT ALL I HAD TO DO IS REMOVING THE DOOR PANEL AND CLEAN IT.
MAYBE IT MIGHT WORK FOR YOU GUYS, JUST TRY IT....

Ya mine are pretty slow too. My accord is also the same way.

Hey 96TL, just a thought, I think you should put your mods on a link, cause they take up so much room when you post. You know what I mean ,

Go into the Signature Test section and post a new topic, attach the pic you want, and then copy the link and use it from there.

Now I know Im not the only one that has slow windows. I knew the lady who had the car before me didnt roll the windows down that much, so I wondered if I was the only one w/ the prob.

I also get the rainy day screetches, and the scratches on the window. I took my car to the dealer, and they lubed it up, but the screeches came back a month later. Also, my front motors are slower than the rears (and my passenger side is reeeaaaalll slow).

I'm interested in finding out how to get Acura to declare a recall as well. Anybody?

Craig

I'm resurrecting this thread because my girl's 96 3.2 has the same problem with the windows. The dealer she purchased it from replaced the drivers side glass. I don't want a band-aid fix. I would like to solve the problem. Has anybody brought their rides into the dealer to get fixed? So far from this thread I have these options. Now I just want to know my price/success rate.

1. Bring into dealer and replace entire track.

2. Bring into dealer and have them clean the track/felt.

3. Remove door and clean/replace felt myself.

thanks,

James

My windows are extremely slow. My front ones both have the lines going from top to bottom and my passenger back window, the wire that pulls the window up and down has been damaged for about 2 years now. So on occasions when I put the window down, it has a strong possibility of not going back up again..That freaking sucks, cause when Im driving I always have the front windows down, and if you have the back ones up, you get more air up front... but oh well.. that part costs like 250 bucks too repair and certainly not worth it right now....
