You're not actually supposed to flush Honda Automatic Transmissions. You're just supposed to drain and fill them every 30,000 miles or 3 years I believe. It takes between 3 and 4 quarts for the drain and fill.

I actually had a flush done by the dealer. It really helped because I was having rough shifting issues. I had to get ALL the burnt fluid out. I know my tranny will never be the same, but at least now it shifts smooth. I had to get that fluid out before it totally corroded the parts and they failed really early. I'm at 195500km right now.

Otherwise, drain and fill only.

I had my tranny drain and filled at 30k, but just changed my speedsenor on my civic with 186k the fluid still looks good.

Drain and Fill every 15,000 miles will slowly purge out the old fluid. It is a cheaper investment than running hot on your tranny. Rough shifting will go away. USE HONDA ATZ Fluid, do not use any other brand.
