tire size too big?

Alrite I brought my car to the shop today for some new tires. I originally placed an order for some 225/45/17 toyo proxes but the guys made the wrong order and got 245/45/17 instead. They asked me if I wanted those instead and I told them to put what tire on first to see how it looks. When they slapped it on, I noticed that it sticked out of the fender just a little bit but there was only about 2-2.5 gap between the tire and fender so I decided to go for it. I was planning to lower my car but I think its good idea if I just leave it the way it is. Any of you guys have this tire size?

Check out http://www.sgmotorsports.com/tiresize.htm#TireSize

The most important thing is overall diameter.

my car is the same way.....my tires are sticking out of the boby about .5".....the only bad thing is that now i can't have more then 2 people sitting in the back seat or my car body keeps hitting the tires every time i make a turn or go over a bump or anything.....i am still thinking about lowering it...but then i am going to have the car shop slant my tires in an angle a little bit so i can drop my car and it won't turn the tires or anything like that.....

with 245's they will probably rub when u lower it

mine rubbed with 225/45/17 and 42 offset... i needed to jack it up to a 48 offset

wise to change the tire and go with 215/50/17.. the correct tire size

yea....i just changed the tires to 225/45/17 theres less rubbing now but it still rubs when I make a turn with a bump. phat- can you tell me more about slanting the tires? will that tuck my tires inside the fender? how much would that cost? thanks!
