Thinking of getting an intake for my 3.2 suggestions?

I'm wondering which you recommend for a '96 3.2, and a good place to buy one? I know there's lots of benefits in performance but what about fuel consumption?

After installing mine, my mileage went up by 1-2 mpg.

I eventually took it off because of the noise. If you want mine, I can sell it to you for really low.

Were you getting more miles per gallon or using more gas per mile? Which intake did you have? I may be interested.

My mileage went up. As in instead of 20 mpg I would get 21. It was not a big difference. Performance wise it helped though.

However, another side effect is that I started getting on the gas a lot more (power is addicting). Only when I told myself to back off of this did I get the extra mileage.

I have a Weapon R. I think somebody else has one and they took pics of it. Or I can take pics of mine (not installed).

I swear by the Secret Weapon Intake from Weapon-R. Toucan Industries makes alot of junky stuff... at least, the stuff I've seen.

I have a Weapon R intake. Its worth getten since you don't have to replace an air filter anymore. I use an HKS air filter after the weapon r filter got too dirty to clean.
HKS just use soap and water (its just a spung). K&N you would have to buy the oil to clean it.

Or you can buy a filter for $25 at pep boys and change it every summer.

that looks nice! Any difference between that and the dragon other than looks? What about that filter, can you replace it with a K&N? Is it worth the money to change it out or is the weapon R good enough?

Your intake.. it's the short-ram right? if so, what are it's advantages in contrast to a cold air intake?

I would rather replace the filter with a K&N. The Weapon R filter is horrible. If you hold it up to the light, you can see all the huge holes it has. Sure it helps airflow, but you don't want all that grit getting into your cylinders.

Ok, before everyone starts yelling at me, it was gotten from my uncle, who owes me money. This was kinda like, "Here ya go, hope this takes care of collecting on your money for awhile," type of deal.

Advantage being I don't have to worry about water ingestion since I live in a very hilly area. That's solved with a bypass filter, but better not to have to worry about it. Difference with the Dragon is intake tube design (which AEM copied for their v2 intakes) and that the filter flows about 800CFM. One thing though, it's not how much it flows, it's how much it filters that matters most in engine care.

~Cheers~

P.S. There is no Secret Weapon Cold Air made. For me, it's the power of a cold air in a short ram.
