Squealing noise
Squealing noise
Car will squeal - for lack of a better word - in warmer weather with the a/c on when first started. Turn the a/c off all is quiet. Once the car is warmed up all is quiet as well.
Noise comes from power steering pump side of engine.
A/C compressor is quiet and functioning. I replaced the tensioner pulley today as it had a slight looseness to it.
All accessory belts are new and adjusted correctly. Alternator is new as well.
Crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer is new as well.
Perhaps it is the power steering pump...just strange the a/c would cause it to make a racket...
Timing belt has 50,000 km on it.
Any thoughts?

Well I headed over to Harbour Freight and splurged on a Mechanic's Stethoscope. $2.99 on offer.
Of all things it is the fan motor going. The fan only kicks in when the a/c turns on, hence no noise with the a/c off.
The Stethoscope is a really handy tool that is for sure.
$192 from Delray for a new one...ouch...I will look elsewhere...
