speedometer STILL WONT WORK!

Alright, a few weeks ago, i bought a new speedometer from ebay and i had it installed today for free. After, all was said and done, I test drove the car to see if the problem would have been fixed and of course THAT DIDNT FIX A DARN THING! I was wondering, what else could be the problem? a fuse, relay!?!?! What the heck can it be..Im no newbie but when it comes to electricial repairs i am..So i was wondering what else should i change before i spent 50bucks on a new gauge cluster!?

Thank u

1996 Acura 2.5 TL!

oh i had that problem. and two days later i had transmission problems. It look like it was some control thing for the speedometer on the transmission that went bad and it was causing the transmission to slam in the first three gears. and the speedometer was dead and then it would dance up and down. after they changed that little thing everything was back to normal and car was driving better than how i got it. hope this helps.

I am guessing Vehicle Speed Sensor, happened in my 95 Legend. RPM worked but PH stayed at 0.

Check the harness, if anything. Maybe the clip's contacts are corroded or dirty.

~Cheers~

P.S. Some di-electric grease wouldn't hurt.

Anyhow, I'm not sure for the 2.5, but just do a visual on all the fuses in both boxes. You never know what might cause that to flip out.

I was just thinking that last night as I was looking at my spare VSS. Make sure the ATF lines are clear and not blocked by anything, or if they're even hooked up and not looped.

~Cheers~

Vehicle Speed Sensor = VSS for those that didn't know. Seemed there was some confusion there. The OP stated they changed the speedometer, which cannot be assumed to be the VSS although they later clarified. Yes definitely check the fuses and any wires/lines you can. Also, the OP does say they are a lesbian, so I'm guessing unless they are messing around that the "he" is a she.
